Most practitioners do not identify or even look at childhood sleep apnea signs. Early jaw development affects more than just your child’s smile, it shapes their airway, breathing, sleep, and future growth.
A deep bite can reduce vertical space, limiting tongue and airway room. Many children with deep bites also grind, snore, or show signs of sleep apnea — often long before age 8.
The good news? With early, functional jaw orthopedics, we can guide jaw growth, support healthy breathing, and set your child up for lifelong wellness.

🦷 Holistic. Preventive. Growth-guided dentistry.

Laser fillings on a sweet young girl using the dental laser. It is always a blessing when they have a wide mouth opening and can tolerate the bite device which makes it a lot easier to work on multiple teeth at the same time. She was instructed to raise a finger to communicate if she felt anything. Laser fillings are minimally invasive, and do not cause heat or vibration. It’s very important to earn the trust of a child and not to deceive them. It’s always a reward for both myself, my team and the child when they leave the office with big smiles.

Extraction of a rotten on a 13 year old . It was a relief to get that disintegrated and infected tooth out. Despite the fact that the tooth behind it was leaning over the distal root, I managed to elevate it after removing the front root. I curetted the bone thoroughly, applied gas, grafted the socket with bio oss collagen, and overlaid it with two plugs of . This little girl did surprisingly well even with her blood draw.

Most practitioners including myself who quote the ancient Hippocratic Oath of “primum non nocere” (first do no harm) is actually a later Roman simplified version in Latin. Hippocrates is considered the father of Western medicine. He lived on the Greek island of Kos in the 5th century BC. Here are excerpts of his original oath in Ionic Greek, with translation. I swear by Apollo the Healer, and Asclepius, and Hygieia, and Panacea, and all the gods and goddesses, making them my witnesses, that I will fulfill according to my ability and judgment this oath and this covenant:
I will use those regimens which will benefit my patients according to my greatest ability and judgment, and I will do no harm or injustice to them.

I will not give a lethal drug to anyone if I am asked, nor will I advise such a plan; and similarly I will not give a woman a pessary to cause abortion.

In purity and with holiness I will guard my life and my art. Two art pieces of mine depicting Armenian gods with attributes to healing, are Anahid (goddess of love, healing and childbirth) and Tir (god of scribes and dreams, also messenger god similar to Apollo) In our frantic daily lives treating patients, Hippocrates should be giving us a gentle reminder of our sacred duties towards our patients.
