Our team not only connected with partners and colleagues, we also had the incredible opportunity to be part of a Familiar Touch screening and conversation that delved into why the work we do is so important. As we reminisce during this thankful season, we are grateful for opportunities like these to connect with each other, learn and share.

But the true foundation of it all, its very core, begins at home. It’s the promise of support, connection and vibrant living that we foster within our walls.
This isn't just about the physical buildings. It's about the human connections, the resident-led initiatives and the collective peace of mind that comes from a supportive community.
What makes this so powerful is how our residents themselves champion this spirit. This is exemplified by a new story on our blog about Pat and Linda, two residents at Spring Lake Village. After a life of world travel, they found their "safe harbor" with us and immediately became community leaders.
They also became dedicated donors to the Circle of Friends Resident Assistance Fund. Their reason is simple and profound: to protect their neighbors and strengthen their community.

With a mission to support our residents every day, we are remodeling the main kitchen at Casa de Mañana Retirement Community in La Jolla and upgrading capacity with modern cooking technology. To maintain uninterrupted meal service during construction, we deployed a temporary kitchen trailer with the help of ContekPro. A custom ContekPro trailer keeps meals on schedule and lets staff train on the same equipment they’ll use post-renovation. Its compact, production-grade layout reduces steps and keeps service moving. Robin, a longtime resident, opened her Outer Richmond apartment to two older adult housemates this month. With years of experience living with people of all ages, Robin was already familiar with home-sharing, and she joined Home Match to take advantage of our screening and matching support.

Our team quickly connected her with two housemates who shared her values and lifestyle. All three discovered they’re regulars at different YMCA locations across the city, and they bonded over staying active and engaged in their community.
