Our STARS have earned their stripes. By participating in 5 STAR College, team members build their skills through training that highlights the importance of connection, innovation, collaboration and stepping outside of one’s comfort zone. STARS then lead workshops for their colleagues, exploring how we all contribute to the Front Porch culture.

Now that this year’s workshops are complete, our STARS have graduated to become Ambassadors. Thank you to our incredible STARS for fostering a collaborative culture built on our Front Porch values and strategic goals.

We have had a wonderful June celebrating Pride Month throughout Front Porch. Our Glendale office featured a Pride display with buttons, Pride flags and books celebrating LGBTQ+ artists. Our communities hosted Pride events including drag bingo and a Pride cocktail mixer.

Today's the day! Familiar Touch hosts its Los Angeles premiere this evening at the Laemmle Royal theater! Earlier this week, the Laemmle Royal hosted a sneak peek of the film followed by a conversation as part of the Reel Talk series. Writer, producer and actor Stephen Farber talked with two of our Villa Gardens residents and Villa Gardens Retirement Community Executive Director Shaun Rushforth about the process of making the film and their experience collaborating with the filmmakers.

Our CEO Sean Kelly attended the New York premiere of Familiar Touch last Friday at the Film Forum. This film holds a special place for us as it was filmed at our community Villa Gardens Retirement Community with the help of many of our residents and team members.
Reflecting on the New York premiere, Sean shared: "Kathleen Chalfant spoke incredibly and is an awesome advocate for what we hope for: meeting people where they are, honoring each person. This film honors each older person and each person who does this work to connect and become a part of lives well lived, including lives being lived with dementia, and finding care, love, touch and purpose in the present. It's pretty amazing."
