I am reaching out to share a story of strength, resilience, and unwavering determination. Our beloved friend, Ashley, is facing a relentless battle against metastasized melanoma, marked by a BRAF mutation that has spread to both lungs, thyroid, lymph nodes, sternum, forehead, and into her bones (METS). Recently, she underwent the difficult decision to amputate her left arm and right lower leg, emerging as a double amputee in her fight for survival.
Ashley's journey has taken her through countless treatments, but her local oncologists have regrettably informed her that she has exhausted all available options. Undeterred, Ashley, alongside her devoted husband Troy and their 11-year-old daughter Kylee, is set to embark on a journey of hope to MD Anderson in Houston this Christmas night. Dr. Burzynski, renowned for his innovative approaches, offers a glimmer of hope and a potential lifeline for Ashley's battle.
However, the financial burden is substantial, and this is where we, as a community, can make a significant impact. The estimated costs for Ashley's treatment include a $1,250 initial consultation fee, a $7,000 medical and lab deposit, approximately $35,000 for a year's worth of medication, and a $7,000 monthly case management fee. It's important to note that insurance is not accepted for these life-saving measures.
Ashley, Troy, and Kylee need our support. Ashley, in addition to being a tenacious fighter, is a dedicated homeschooling mother ensuring Kylee receives a quality education while cherishing every moment together. The financial strain is immense, and any contribution, big or small, will make a significant difference.
