October is Ultrasound Awareness Month! 🩺

Did you know that a lower extremity ultrasound can play a crucial role in wound healing?
This non-invasive imaging technique helps healthcare providers identify underlying issues that may be preventing wounds from healing properly.
A lower extremity ultrasound can detect: Blood clots (DVT) that restrict circulation, Venous insufficiency causing poor blood flow, Arterial blockages limiting oxygen delivery to tissues and Fluid collections or abscesses beneath the wound. When wounds on the legs or feet aren’t healing as expected, poor circulation is often the culprit. By identifying these vascular issues early, your healthcare team can create a targeted treatment plan to improve blood flow and promote faster, more effective healing.
If you have a chronic wound that’s been slow to heal, talk to your provider about whether a lower extremity ultrasound might be beneficial. Early detection and intervention can make all the difference in your recovery.

Today we celebrate a truly special milestone – Bree’s 16th anniversary with our team!
Sixteen years ago, we gained more than a colleague – we gained a leader whose vision, dedication, and genuine care for our people have shaped who we are today. As our Chief Operating Officer, Bree hasn’t just managed operations; she’s built a culture where excellence and compassion go hand in hand.
Through challenges and triumphs alike, Bree has been our steady force – always leading with integrity, always putting our team first, and always finding ways to turn obstacles into opportunities. Her impact extends far beyond the strategic decisions she makes; it’s in the mentorship she provides, the trust she builds, and the way she inspires everyone around her to reach higher.
Bree, thank you for 16 years of transformative leadership. Thank you for believing in our mission and in each of us. Your dedication doesn’t just drive our success – it defines it.
Here’s to celebrating you today and to many more years of working alongside someone who makes us all better.

Let’s learn some fun history about wound care! šŸ©¹šŸ’œ

From ancient honey to smart bandages—humanity’s journey to heal wounds reveals unexpected wisdom.
Ancient Egyptians used honey as nature’s antibiotic and wrapped wounds in linen, creating the first bandages. Medieval healers employed maggots to clean infected wounds—a practice modern medicine has rediscovered and validated.
The 1800s changed everything! Semmelweis proved handwashing saved lives, while Lister’s antiseptics transformed surgery from deadly gamble to viable treatment. Suddenly, infection became preventable.
The 20th century brought antibiotics, turning potentially fatal cuts into minor inconveniences. But the real breakthrough came from understanding that wounds need optimal moisture and pH balance—not just dryness. Today’s advanced dressings create a perfect wound healing environments.
Now we’re entering an era of stem cells, bioengineered tissues, and smart bandages that monitor healing in real-time. The ancient art has become high-tech science, yet the goal remains unchanged: helping the body heal itself from the inside out!
