Our Story

Mending Hearts Family Services was founded in 2008 by Sharon Carl and currently provides compassionate care and diverse services to individuals, couples, children and families. Mending Hearts Family Services is a small, Christ-centered, 501(c)3 non-profit agency located in Glendale, AZ. Our caring staff and team of 5 therapists provide warm and attentive support to clients experiencing a variety of issues including: anxiety, addictions, depression, self-harm, sexual addictions, grief & loss, trauma/ PTSD, mood disorders, relationship issues, divorce recovery, and adoption issues. We offer affordable, evidence-based, behavioral interventions with a Biblical emphasis on a sliding scale payment system. Mending Hearts also recruits, assesses, trains, and supports families with foster care licensure and certification for the state of AZ. This includes families interested in providing respite care and kinship adoption! There are nearly 18,000 children currently in foster care in AZ in need of nurturing, safe homes. Often times these children have experienced abuse, neglect, trauma and loss. They require stability, attention, and love to begin to thrive.
