Through 10 Mile Markers, you'll learn essential emotional wellness skills—from managing intense emotions and identifying negative thought patterns to improving communication and motivation.

We’re proud to welcome Chineme Moneke, a board-certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, to the Healing Horizons Psychiatry team!

Chineme brings a compassionate, culturally sensitive, and holistic approach to mental health care. With experience across inpatient, outpatient, and telepsychiatry settings, he treats a wide range of conditions—including mood and anxiety disorders, ADHD, trauma, substance use, and psychotic spectrum disorders.

He integrates medication management with supportive, mindfulness-based, and trauma-informed care, always centered around your unique story and needs.

🌿 Mindful Monday with Healing Horizons Psychiatry 🌿
This week, take a moment to reset with a simple yet powerful grounding technique: Box Breathing

What is Box Breathing?
Also known as four-square breathing, it helps reduce stress, calm the mind, and improve focus. It’s used by athletes, first responders, and even Navy SEALs — and you can do it anytime, anywhere.

Here’s how to do it:
🔲 Inhale for 4 seconds
🔲 Hold for 4 seconds
🔲 Exhale for 4 seconds
🔲 Hold for 4 seconds
🔁 Repeat 4–6 rounds

Pro tip: Visualize drawing the sides of a box as you breathe it helps anchor your attention.

Take 2 minutes today to try this practice and feel the shift in your body and mind.
