I love working with teens and adults in the therapy room. As a gifted individual, my teenage years were especially difficult as I tried to navigate heightened expectations and an overwhelming lack of systemic support.
Now, as a mental health therapist, I aspire to address these gaps and help other gifted teens improve their self-advocacy and reach their full potential.
I hope to foster a validating space that inspires clients to channel their inner strengths, challenge their self-defeating beliefs, and improve their overall life satisfaction using a combination of Cognitive-Behavioral, person-centered, and strengths-based techniques.
While I highly value the therapeutic relationship, I love to get to know my clients outside of their current struggles. I enjoy bringing my personality into counseling, and I encourage clients to fully express theirs.
❌ Sometimes it can be hard to make choices that we know are good for us in the long run because we get caught up in the moment and make an emotional decision.
❌ This can lead to feelings of defeat and we can start to limit what we think is possible for ourselves.
❌ Don't let temporary struggles create a glass ceiling on your success.
✔ Instead, remember that small steps will get you up the mountain.

As I see it, the overarching goal of counseling is to create autonomous, self-sufficient, and confident people. And the best way to do that is to help those I work with to learn to communicate effectively and support them as they learn to solve the challenges life throws their way.
