Reynolds Memorial Hospital

Reynolds Memorial Hospital Providing quality care close to home. Reynolds Memorial Hospital is a nonprofit, acute-care community hospital located in Glen Dale, WV.

We are governed by a 25-member volunteer board of directors and licensed for 90-beds and a 20-bed Skilled Nursing Unit. The hospital began as God’s Providence Home, an old farmhouse converted to an infirmary by B.M. Spurr, Archdeacon of the WV Episcopal Diocese. In 1899, Archdeacon Spurr founded the hospital through funding provided by Emily Van Buren Reynolds, daughter of U.S. President Martin Van Buren, in memory of her husband and sons. The current facility was constructed in 1963. Expansion and modernization continue with the most recent addition of a new women’s health center. Few elements of a community can impact the quality of life like practical, accessible health care. At Reynolds Memorial Hospital, our mission is to provide quality care to patients and the community at a reasonable cost. We are proud of our reputation for compassion and sincere concern. Through shared values and a creative approach to improving service, the professional staff at Reynolds Memorial Hospital have demonstrated this commitment: to remain focused on our tradition of caring and to assure the quality service as health care evolves. Reynolds Memorial Hospital is licensed by the WV State Health Department and is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations. The hospital is a member of the Voluntary Hospital Association, Inc., the American Hospital Association and the WV Hospital Association. We have a medical and dental staff of more than 100 practitioners. We provide a full range of medical services to meet the needs of our community that include general medical and surgical care, cardiac and other intensive care, home health and skilled nursing care.

Yesterday, team members from Reynolds Memorial Hospital were proud to be out in the community distributing First Responder Communication Cards!

These cards are designed to assist individuals who may experience communication barriers due to physical or intellectual disabilities, helping police, fire, and EMS personnel communicate more effectively in emergency situations.

We are incredibly grateful for all that our first responders do each day, and we’re always honored to support them in making their vital work just a little easier!

Today is National Doctors’ Day!

We’re taking this opportunity to say thank you to the physicians who care for our community and make a profound difference in our lives every day. We are truly grateful for the time, skill, and dedication they bring to their work.

One meaningful way we’re showing our appreciation this year is by making a gift in honor of a physician. Your Doctors’ Day contribution not only recognizes their commitment but also supports programs and services that strengthen healthcare across the Ohio Valley. When you make your gift, you can include a personal message of appreciation that will be shared with the physician you honor.

Join us in honoring a physician today.
