It’s that time of year…Cub Scout Pinewood Derby! The Cub Scouts will be racing this Friday. Fastest, slowest, and best looking cars will go home with a custom made trophy. Saturday there is a Community Pinewood Derby, they will also get a set of snails for this race. Huge thank you to Dawn Pierce Mittelstaed of In The Mittel for some quick work on those plaques!
Another thank you, once again, to my hubby for knocking out the bases!!

It’s a dreary day here with some much needed rain!! I decided to take advantage of the day and knock out a thing or two. There is a special, squishy boy that needed a bird bath to accompany his bird feeders. His Buh Pat may have started him on something! 💙🐦🫧As for the John Deere planter, I’m guessing the pretty lady that ordered it will add something bright and colorful eventually!! 🌺🌼🌸

I may have started something last year in making trophies for my Cub Scouts! This year they received the rusty version of camshafts, Turtle Trophies, and Best in Show! Thank you again to everyone who donated last year as most pieces were carryovers, HKT Big Sky Motors, Roddey Zinda, and Todd Copenhaver! It’s been a while since I’ve posted, which means it’s been that long since I’ve been in the garage to weld! My Cub Scouts have their Pinewood Derby this month so I better get some trophies made. There is also an Adult Pinewood Derby so I figure the adults can win something as cool as the kids this year!!! They are all a work in progress. 🤪

One of my “hats” that I wear is Cubmaster for our local Cub Scout Pack, kindergarten to fifth grade. This year for our Pinewood Derby I had an idea to build their trophies. I put a post out for some camshafts and went to talk to local mechanics. Our community is amazing and came to my rescue giving me enough to cover this year AND next!!! A HUGE shoutout to HKT, Roddey Zinda, American Ford, Deven Rittal, and Katie & Colby Macioroski for donating camshafts!!! Thank you, Border Steel, for helping with the search and Yellowstone Clothing Company for the plaques to go on the bases!! The bases were built by my hubby, Pat, who always helps me complete some of my crazy ideas!!!
