Gotta love enjoying the baby snuggles at a postpartum appointment 🥰 I honestly try to hold babies as little as possible because I think it’s important to the parents to be able to be the ones to hold and care for their newborn…but every once in a while the opportunity presents itself and I just enjoy every second of it.

So proud of this beautiful momma. Couldn’t have been more blessed to be a part of this story. God is so good and taught us all so much through our journey together. He was in every detail, from the way He sovereignly brought us together, to the timing of the birth, to the beautiful time we spent in prayer together. I’m so amazed by your strength and the beautiful ways you and your husband love each other, love God, and love others. I’m so blessed to know you and remain your sister in Christ for all eternity.

Midwife training…brushing up on my NRP for out of hospital providers with I can’t say enough about how incredible it was to learn about how to help babies who need help to breathe at birth when they are struggling to do it on their own in this way and with this amazing group of midwives. Also learning what it feel like to insert an IO into a chicken keg was pretty cool…and I plan to never perform this skill again 😂 so not in our scope as midwives but interesting to learn

I need to take a moment to brag on the man behind the midwife. I could not do what I do without your incredible support. You cook, clean, cart kids to and fro, feed the cat, and make sure everyone feels loved and important. People don’t realize the special kind of husband it takes to be a good partner to a midwife. Had 2 births yesterday and came home to a bouquet and encouragement. My heart could not be fuller. Both births were filled with joy, struggle, surrender and a trust in God to get them through the crossover from pregnancy to motherhood. The veil between heaven and earth gets a little thinner as we experience the sacredness of a new life coming into the world and it’s my honor to hold space for these women as they experience God in the holiest of moments. Both babies were girls, both active labors were under 3 hours, and neither of them tore 🤩🙌🏻🤩Praising the Lord for His goodness to us and mercy to the laboring mommas

I always promise the mommas that “labor will take you to the end of yourself, and once you figure out how to surrender to God, your body, your baby…whatever you need to surrender…that’s when birth happens.” It was an honor to watch you get there wife out where the end was and how to trust and surrender and not give up even when that felt like the easier option. Welcome baby boy 💙

One of my favorite lactation consultants just started a new group. I had a group like this when I was a new mom and it was a life saver for me. It was such a sweet time to sit with our Littles and other moms and talk all things breastfeeding and babies and new-moming and just feed or chill. We all need this 💕

Today was PACKED! So thankful to the Lord for the friends and family who supported us today. VBS leader training, dance competition, gymnastics practice and a birthday party..and all the while I was called to a birth. When we were discussing the logistics of the day my husband said something along the lines of “I hope you don’t get called to a birth Saturday because I can’t handle it and all of this” in that moment I knew I would because the Lord would teach us yet again that He is faithful, trustworthy, and works out all the details. I have no birth pics from today, but it was beautiful. I’m so amazed at the beautiful faith that this couple displayed as they worship, prayed and read scripture all through their birth, from the moment I arrived until the moment I left they were filling the room with His praises and His word. She delivered quickly and easily and I got to the dance competition just in time for the last few dances. Sometimes midwifery collides with family life, but God always works it out for His glory and our good. Praising Him for the healthy momma and baby today and for the village it took to get my kids to their activities while my husband and I both had work obligations 🥰🥰🥰 now to rest up for the next one…4 more could go at anytime 😅

It’s been a full weekend of celebrating Motherhood, tea, and as always a little gymnastics thrown in the mix. Praising the Lord for His goodness to our family and all the mommas in our lives, and I have many! My mom, step-mom, mother-in-love, sister, aunties and cousins, pregnant ones, postpartum ones, mentors and friends. I love you all and am thankful for the role you all play in my life. Also thank you to all the babies that keep thinking they might make an appearance but are still snuggled safely in your mammas wombs…it’s been wonderful to enjoy some uninterrupted family time 🥰

As a home birth midwife my main area of service is in the home but sometimes I get the opportunity to support moms and dads in the hospital setting for a planned hospital birth. Regardless of the setting I love to teach dads how to support their wives in labor and help mommas thrive in their birth. This amazing family rocked it and we had such a blessed time together bringing this sweet boy into the world.
