If your physicality is in question there is no better time than NOW to start taking the advice I give. If you choose not to listen: the door is open but I cannot make you walk through it. There are TOO MANY people I know PERSONALLY that just won’t listen to me. And that makes me both sad and incensed!

I’m proud of this one.

Just a reminder: unless it’s me your coach can’t do this. 🥰

Protip: have no qualms about backing up the weight. Nobody cares how much you squat if your technique is trash. A lot of keyboard warriors out there waiting for you to mess up. So why give them ammunition? Just focus on you and check the ego. When it comes to my technique I am totally humble, I know when I need to address stuff. Today’s squat session went amazingly well. Making it a point to do an inventory of what I need to do and what I’m already good at, and focusing on the best I can do at any given day. Minimalist at heart I strive to make my movements as pure as I can. Because my kids won’t let me go run and get knee braces if I’m at the trampoline park, nor does my youngest allow me time to get a weight belt in order for me to pick him up. And this is why I train: life; motherf*ckers. Life won’t let you prepare. You just have to be ready.

When I was 25 I started personal training. When I was 25: all my thirty something clients said; “ I wish I started when I was your age, I’d look like you”. When I was 30, I had clients in their 40s say; “I wish I started when I was your age” And today, on my sons 9th birthday, and one month from my 39th birthday I have people in their fifties, sixties, seventies, eighties, and yes: even in their nineties exercising. Don’t lament on the decision to exercise when you did. Be grateful you chose to continue. I now return you to your regularly scheduled fart noise show; already in progress.

315 in the sub basement for 5. I can squat without a belt too. The fresh tank with the accent cut hits different. The demons in my head hold no power! Just happy for the day today! Had a lot of positive interaction and I hope to have more of it; soon. Of course my kids made me jump on the trampoline when we got home. 😰. with the 📸

Major scorpion vibes with this move. Did I mention I hate training shoulders? Don’t do this move if you have dainty hands. On my shoulder day I try to do a rotational and anti rotational core drill to cap off the day. I regret nothing.

Ok ok! Today is core and recovery day and I emphasized recovery (though I did do some heavy farmers walks). You may or may not have heard about body tempering. I was dubious at first: heavy cylinders being rolled over the back and spine. But then, as all geniuses do I decided to build a better mousetrap. Imagine if you will having a weighted blanket wrapping around a muscle that was worked. These sandbags do just that! These *contour* to your body WITH the added benefit of compression: decreases autonomic reaction (lowers heart rate, steadies breathing, lowers cortisol, and increases serotonin)! Many PT and OT use compression (weighted) therapy with children with ADHD and Autisim, which I am quite familiar with. Does your gym have 100+ Lb sandbags, or do you call them “coaches” 😉? The science is there making life better and better! Just. Like. Me.

Going to make this caption short and sweet: illicit as many fibers as you can to develop overall chest mass. That is undeniably a head-on line of contraction. Lower chest is simply a misnomer; it’s overall chest mass you’re after.

Had a quick session at today. Little bit of core work before jumping at urban air. This pallof press variant challenges the adductors way more than traditional methods. Make sure the contraction is explosive and do your best to hold the contraction because that’s where the gains are made! Today I’m gonna spend my time looking at the Lunar Calendar, the Chinese Calendar, and the Mayan Calendar to figure out how this is the third weekend of the month. Wish me luck!

I shared the full video on Instagram. But I felt it pertinent to share two thing: 1. I hit a lifetime goal of mine today of pulling 495lbs at 169 lbs. 2. I now am training out of Delco Strength and Conditioning. I still offer no contract training, however; if you’re local to me you’d be sorely missing out if you don’t check it out. Much more growth out of this place now that the dead wood has been cut back. Tell a friend to tell a friend!!

You don’t have to love this, you don’t even have to like it: but you will respect the science behind it. Doing the Roman chair in this fashion isn’t a lower back exercise, nor is it a hamstring exercise. It’s clearly a glute and hip exercise. When you deadlift and squat the lower back should be isometrically contracted but the takeaway is it’s not supposed to change it’s length. However, it’s definitely going to STRENGTHEN your hamstrings and lower back because isometric contractions are KEY to strengthening connective tissues. Low shearing force+ spinal decompression+glute activation= strong posterior chain. Come at me bros.
