Larry Dwayne Gilliland

Larry Dwayne Gilliland, 84, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully in his home on July 28, 2025. Born February 23, 1941, in Nowata County, Oklahoma, Larry lived a life full of grit, humor, and quiet devotion.

Larry is survived by his beloved wife, Margie, with whom he shared 36 wonderful years of marriage, after seven years of dating that only made their bond stronger. Together, they built a life filled with laughter, day trips, dancing, and the simple joy of each other's company. "Where’s Mom?" was a question Larry often asked—even if he knew exactly where she was—just because he always wanted her close.

He is also survived by his children: twins Terry Gilliland (Kimberly) and Sherry Bietman (Rick), and Kelle McCan; and the grandchildren Joshua Stathis, Justin Moore, Jillian Moore, and Amanda Stathis, along with several others he was proud to call his own. He was preceded death by his parents Jasper and Cecile; brother, Ray Gilliland (Ann); sister, Becky Holmes (Jerry); son Rodney Stathis, and son-in-law Mace McCan.

Larry worked for Koch Industries in Wichita, Kansas, and retired after years of dedicated service. A sharp shooter during his time in the National Guard, he carried that focus and edge throughout his life. He was a cantankerous man in the most lovable way—opinionated, witty, and never one to back down from a spirited conversation, especially if it involved the news.

He loved to read, fish in Grand Lake and Claremore, enjoy a good glass of wine, and watch birds in the backyard. In his younger days, he and Margie could be found dancing at the Elephant Run, making memories with music and motion. They once lived at Grand Lake, a time marked by adventure and serenity, always finding joy in life’s little getaways.

Larry was a strong presence, deeply loved, and will be missed more than words can say. His life was rich with family, stories, and unwavering love for Margie—the center of his world.

Audrey Kittelson

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Audrey Marie Wagnild Kittelson, who left this world on June 26, 2025, at the age of 89. A resident of Tulsa, she passed away peacefully at Saint Francis Hospital following a brief illness.

Born in Jackson, Minnesota, on May 21, 1936, Audrey's passion for learning led her to Augustana University in Sioux Falls, SD, where she studied Art and English. She began her career sharing this passion as a high school teacher in Redwood Falls, MN. Although much of her professional life was spent owning and operating the Tulsa Merry Maids franchise with her late husband, Marshall, she always considered herself a teacher at heart.

Those who knew Audrey would describe her as a lover of life, a woman who embraced all it had to offer. Her creative and adventurous spirit brought joy to everyone she met. From spending a cherished year teaching in Germany to famously eating cheese sandwiches with Marshall while he was in dental school so they could afford to see the world, her life was filled with adventure. This same joyful energy was channeled into her creativity; whether dressing as a witch on Halloween, covering every surface of the home with Christmas decor, writing and performing entertaining skits, or painting works of art for her grandchildren, she was always creating something to bring happiness to those she loved.

Her family will always remember her constant willingness to help and the pure joy she radiated when spending time with her loved ones. This generosity extended to her friends and work, where her Merry Maids team will fondly recall the holiday gift baskets she created for each of them and her readiness for any invitation to go out for coffee, breakfast, or pie. She was also deeply involved in her community as an active member of Fellowship Lutheran Church and a cherished sister in the Delta Theta Chi sorority.

Audrey's greatest devotion was to her family. She shared 49 wonderful years of marriage with Marshall Kent Kittelson and found renewed happiness and companionship with her partner of 14 years, Travis Chambers. She is now reunited with her husband, Marshall, and her beloved son, John Marshall Kittelson, who preceded her in death.

Her memory will be forever cherished by those she leaves behind: her loving daughter, Amy; her sister, Marjorie Knudson; her four grandchildren, Alex Kittelson, Andrew Bates, Baylor Kittelson, and Adam Bates; and her devoted partner, Travis Chambers. Audrey's legacy of love, creativity, and boundless generosity will live on through them all.

In lieu of flowers, please consider memorial donations to the Tulsa Day Center or the ALS Association of Oklahoma.

Diana Kay Lazenby

Diana Kay (Myers) Lazenby, a beautiful soul with a small-town heart, passed away peacefully on July 21, 2025, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born on June 2, 1947, in Mexico, Missouri, to Charles and Margaret Lucille Jennings Myers.

Diana was the kind of woman who made life sweeter just by being in it. She was a true country girl through and through—graceful, grounded, and naturally beautiful, with a love for country music, Hallmark movies, chocolate, and anything sweet. She wasn’t high-maintenance, but she sure liked to shop and could never pass up a good puzzle. As the only girl among her three younger brothers, Diana grew up tough and athletic—she especially loved playing basketball. Diana was reluctantly introduced to the love of her life, Van Lazenby, through her brother. Diana and Van married and spent 58 beautiful years side by side, raising a family and building a life full of love, laughter, and purpose.

Together, Diana and Van raised two sons they were endlessly proud of: Timothy Edward Lazenby (Kimberly) and Scott Wayne Lazenby (Dana). Their values of love, hard work and education shone through in both sons, who went on to become scholars, business owners and loving parents and partners themselves.

Diana adored her grandchildren: Luke Edward, Lex Samuel, Kambel Lynn, and Kruz Lucy. Nothing brought her more joy than being “Mimi,” and her sweet spirit will live on in each of them.

She is also survived by her loving brothers, Ricky and Roger Myers, and many extended family members and dear friends. Diana is preceded by her parents and her brother, Randy.

Diana was the heart of her family, the love of Van’s life, and a steady, sweet presence to everyone who knew her.

Her legacy of love, strength, and kindness will continue to bloom in the hearts of all who loved her.

Stephen Barnes

Stephen Michael Barnes

October 28, 1954 - July 15, 2025

Stephen Michael Barnes was born on October 28,1954 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Kenneth Lee and Jan Larue (Farley) Barnes. Steve's early years were spent moving around the country due to his father being an airline pilot. This upbringing sparked a lifelong love for adventure, travel, and aviation.

After high school, Steve built a dune buggy and drove it to California. He lived simply, camping along the roadside, and embracing freedom and self-reliance. He attended several colleges before graduating from Arizona State College with a bachelor's degree in business and eventually earned his own pilot's license. Steve was a natural entrepreneur. He moved many more times due to his career and different commercial real estate investments and zest for adventure.

At age 44, he met and then married the long-awaited love of his life, Tara, on September 26,1998 in Grand Junction, CO. Then, at the age of 55, Steve met the love of his eternal life, Jesus Christ, as his Lord and Savior. From then on, he always stated that day became the "best day of his life", with his wife the 2nd, followed by the addition of his beautiful daughters Deena, Lara and Sarah, knowing it was God who brought them together and gave him his family! He enjoyed spending time hiking, biking, kayaking, boating and snow skiing with friends and family. He loved to plan, organize and build. His creativity and drive were matched by his deep love for his wife, daughters and family. They were the center of his world. He personally built a home in Florida and then their final home in Bixby, OK where they spent the last 15 years together with their 3 daughters. Upon finishing their home, he then went back to school for his CDL and purchased a Volvo dump truck, driving for Pro Trucking at the Anchor Stone quarry in Owasso. His wife and daughters were always filled with pride every time they passed him while he was hard at work on the road. He provided for his family faithfully until his retirement on March 26th, 2025, the day he received his diagnosis. He cared for his parents as well, when they moved into the 1st floor suite he finished for them so that they could be close to his family in their last years. His father Ken passed at home exactly two months before him. He loved deeply, and wisely protected and provided for his girls, raising them to love God and their Country and to always "watch their back".

He is survived by his wife Tara, daughter Deena (Kobe) McCarter and grandson, Kobe Jr., daughter Lara (Eyad) Maswadeh, and daughter Sarah. He is also survived by his mother, Jan Barnes, brothers Kenneth Jr (Taryn) and William, his uncle Jim Farley and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Barnes Sr. and his nephew Daniel Barnes.

He passed away with his family by his side on Tuesday July 15th, 2025 at the age of 70. When Steve was given the diagnosis of cancer with only months to live, he never wavered in his faith. He was thankful for the 70 years he had been given. He knew those months were a gift, a time to fully enjoy and spend time with those he loved with time to say goodbye. He lived them to the fullest.

A Celebration of Life will be at Evergreen Baptist Church on Saturday August 2nd at 11:00 in the Venue.

in Lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Steve's honor to Evergreen Baptist Church Missions Fund.
