Aloha! Last year, our friends with the Glens Falls Run Club took home the first ever Glens Falls Hospital Aloha 5K Golden Pineapple Community Team Award for the most Glens Falls Hospital Aloha 5K registrants in 2025. The Golden Pineapple has been held in their safe care, proudly displayed at their home-base, Mean Max Brewery for almost a year now, and they will be forever remembered as the first winner of the Glens Falls Hospital Golden Pineapple Community Team Award.

As you may know, the pineapple is an international symbol of welcome and hospitality. Fittingly, this award honors the spirit of Amanda’s House, a home away from home for Glens Falls Hospital patients and families traveling long distances for care. Awarded annually to the team with the highest number of registrants, the Golden Pineapple Trophy is held in their care for one year, celebrating community, compassion, and commitment. Each year, a new team is etched into history, their name and date forever engraved on this trophy of shared purpose. Glens Falls Hospital is deeply grateful to each participant’s support of this this worthy community cause as all the proceeds raised by the Annual Aloha 5K & 1 Mile Family Fun Walk benefit Amanda’s House at Glens Falls Hospital.

Yesterday marked an exciting milestone for Glens Falls Hospital as we officially opened our new Progressive Care Unit (PCU)!

The PCU will provide an intermediate level of care for patients who need more monitoring than a standard hospital floor, but not the intensive level of an ICU. This helps ensure every patient receives the right care, in the right place, and the right time.

Thank you to the Agape Love Foundation for delivering boxes of beautiful new blankets to Glens Falls Hospital to bring warmth and a smile our patients in need of comfort.

The Agape Love Foundation was founded by Kevin Brown, whose wife Jodie was a lifelong caregiver who shared comfort and love with others through blankets, quilts, and afghans. These warm, soft blankets donated in Jodie’s memory will bring joy to patients throughout the hospital. Thank You!
