Cherry Street IRA recently welcomed some very special guest chefs — our Division Director of Community Employment Services and Director of Quality Assurance — for a night full of good food and even better company.

The folks enjoyed a well-deserved night off from cooking while our chefs whipped up a comfort-food favorite: creamy macaroni & cheese, a fresh tossed salad, and Valentine’s candy for dessert

More than just a meal, the evening was filled with laughter, conversation, and a truly family-like atmosphere. Moments like these remind us that connection and shared experiences are at the heart of what we do.

On March 10th at 11:30 AM, advocates from across New York State will gather at the Capitol Building to rally for a stronger, more stable care system for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

We’re calling on legislators to:

Increase funding for disability services through a 2.7% Targeted Inflationary Increase

Expand affordable housing initiatives

Enhance the NYS Child & Dependent Care Credit

Restore critical healthcare enhancement programs

At CWI, we see every day how critical these supports are for individuals, families, and the dedicated professionals who care for them. We must continue to urge our lawmakers to invest in all New Yorkers living with I/DD and in the workforce that makes these supports possible.
