It was a privilege for us to donate in support of Meals on Wheels! Thank you Chestnut Hill Meals On Wheels for making such a meaningful impact on the community.

Director of Admissions, Miranda Spadaccino, dropped by this morning to deliver a generous donation from Edgehill Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. Board member, Doug MacBride, was happy to accept!

Nancy admitted to Edgehill Nursing for short-term rehabilitation. We are so proud of the progress she made during her stay with us. Congratulations, Nancy!

Please see below to learn more about Nancy's story:

"Nancy Furlong, who lives in at home with 24-hour aides, was previously independent with mobility but required some help with daily living. She was active, walking outside daily and going into the community with her aides. Her supportive brother also took her to medical appointments. Upon admission to Edgehill Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, following a fall at home, Nancy required assistance in getting ready and walking around. She used a rolling walker and could walk 30 feet but could not do stairs.

Upon discharge, she was able to get in and out of chairs and bed, walked 150 feet with supervision, and completing 9 steps with supervision. She was also better able to navigate her environment and complete the tasks associated with daily living. After family training, Nancy was discharged home with 24-hour aides and home care therapy services, achieving independent transfers and mobility with supervision."

Last week, members of our team had the privilege of volunteering with Chosen 300, an inspiring organization that provides meals and services to individuals experiencing homelessness in Philadelphia.

We had a blast celebrating 80s Day at Edgehill! Residents and staff got into the retro spirit with fun outfits. To top it all off, we served up delicious hot dogs for everyone to enjoy!

We’re incredibly grateful to our amazing staff for the dedication, compassion, and care they show our residents every day. Your hard work truly makes a difference!

Day 2 of Nursing Home Week was a cozy one — PJ Day!
A special thank you to Abbi from All American Hospice for making the day even sweeter by bringing an ice cream truck for our staff and residents. Your kindness and generosity brought smiles all around!

A few weeks ago, Edgehill Nursing hosted a "Prom" for the residents, with students from Arcadia College in attendance. We were delighted to receive the following testimonial from a resident’s family member, who shared their appreciation for the event.

"I just wanted to shout kudos to Mary, Recreations Director, she works VERY hard organizing so many fun events for the residents. I saw so many happy faces, enjoying the music and fun at the 'Prom.' Please know this effort is much appreciated for all the residents!"
