To our fellow PA Acupuncturists,
Thank you all for your inquiries and patience with regard to our current legislative changes.
Now that Act 38 (formerly H.B. 1490) has passed into law, legislation will continue to be clarified within the State Board of Medicine. We have had some contact with our Medical Board, and have confirmed that none of the educational requirements will be implemented this licensure cycle.
We will continue to be in contact as we find out more about how and when the new regulations, enacted by Act 38, will be set forth. This will be an extended process, involving communications between the Medical Board, the APA, the PA House and Senate Licensure Committee, and the Independent Regulatory Review Commission.
While the legislative process is a lengthy one, the Board of Medicine is required to complete implementation within a 2 year period. Please be prepared to complete the 30 CEU educational requirement after the new year, and in our next licensure cycle.
Thank you all for your continued commitment to excellence in our field!
The APA Board
