There’s something special about the fundamentals—especially when they’re passed down from your father.

This might just look like an old-school moment of denture work, but for me, it’s full circle. I’m border molding a custom impression tray with compound—a technique my dad, taught me years ago. He passed five years ago, but his lessons continue to shape how I practice every single day.

It was through removable prosthodontics that I learned the foundation of smile design—understanding lip support, midline, phonetics, and the relationship between function and esthetics. Occlusion, vertical dimension, patient communication… it all started here.

There’s an art to getting it right—and an even deeper meaning when the person who taught you is the reason you’re holding the torch (and the flame).
