My family enjoyed garden railroads for years, especially as we all grew older and our abilities changed. I have built layouts for retail outlets, holiday exhibits and moved our family railroad to Wickham Park in Manchester, CT where it is appreciated by people of all ages and abilities. Chuck began his human resources career in the recruitment of workers with disabilities. He is now a Certified Aging in Place Specialist who provides services pertaining to supporting aging loved ones in their own homes through residential enhancements, homecare solutions, sensory support and other approaches. His workshop on "Graceful Aging in Place" has been approved for continuing education credit units. His book, MAKING YOUR HOME SENIOR-FRIENDLY, prepares families and friends for home care. Aging with dignity and grace make the difference between living and merely surviving. The quality of the life we lead is influenced by our attitude, surroundings and relationships.
