A successful fundraiser!

On April 10th, Mountain Family Health Centers hosted a wonderful evening at Brush Creek Pavilion, bringing together community leaders, neighbors, and friends to strengthen access to care across our valley. With the support of our region, we raised vital funds to expand and enhance the health and well-being of our community.

A heartfelt thank you to our generous sponsors Dang Sweets, Christy Sports, Event Rents, Vail Brewing Company, East West Hospitality, Flower Hound and Brie Bailey for donating time and giveaways.

We are deeply grateful for the continued support that makes this work possible while helping create a healthier future for our community.

Coinsurance is the percentage of the cost of a covered service that you pay after you've met your deductible.

Since it can be a confusing concept, here's an example of how it works:

Before you pay your full deductible, you'll pay 100% of the out-of-pocket costs of care. So, if a doctor's visits costs $100 in out-of-pocket costs, you'll pay $100.

After you've met your deductible, for a doctor's visit that costs $100, if your coinsurance percentage is 20%, you'll pay $20 and your insurance company will pay what remains ($80).

Unlike a copay, coinsurance is generally billed after the visit instead of being paid at the time of the visit, and it is always a percentage of the cost of care rather than a flat dollar amount.

Like a copay, coinsurance counts toward your out-of-pocket max (the maximum amount you'll pay out of pocket in a plan year).

Dustin Moyer, Mountain Family CEO and patient and Steven Garcia-Machuca, Mountain Family Board Member and patient traveled to Washington D.C. for the National Association of Community Health Centers' Policy and Issues Forum where they met with Colorado's Representatives, Senators, and their staff. Thank you to Senator Bennet, Senator Hickenlooper, Congressman Neguse, and Congressman Hurd, all of whom have a Mountain Family in their clinic for their district for their ongoing support of Mountain Family and Community Health Centers.
