Earlier this week, members of the Methodist’s safety and security team visited the Nebraska State Capitol where Gov. Jim Pillen signed a proclamation to recognize this year’s Healthcare Security and Safety Week (Oct. 12-18).

Oscar Garcia, security director for Methodist Hospital and Nebraska Methodist College, spoke at the ceremony about the importance of health care safety and security employees, and how they contribute to the well-being of patients, staff and visitors in a hospital – especially in a world of escalating violence in health care.
