MEDICAL ASSISTANT:
As directed and supervised by healthcare professional and team lead, performs a variety of patient care activities, preparing patients for visits and enhancing patient flow in accordance with established department policies, standards, procedures and compliance with state and federal regulations and guidelines

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (include, but not limited to the following)

Receives patients, determines chief complaints, reviews medical history prior to exam and updates as appropriate

Collect and record a variety of routine patient data as part of check in procedures including, but not limited to: height, weight, temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure, and glucose screen

Retrieves patient chart, reviews for completeness and obtains outside test results as appropriate

Performs patient checkout instructions; implements medical orders
Identifies and reports unusual findings or observations, clinical symptoms, behaviors and treatment reactions to appropriate healthcare professional

Prepares exam room for procedures, organizes instruments and equipment; assists healthcare provider during outpatient surgical procedures, applies/removes dressings

Cleans and sanitizes exam room and fixtures by removing soiled materials/instruments, replacing exam paper sheets and wiping counter areas to provide for efficient room turns

Performs lab draws and basic tests; seals and packages for processing by laboratory

Administers immunizations to patients in accordance with physician orders

Assists review and reinforce education of basic healthcare procedures and activities

Assists ambulate patient to and from other clinic areas

Actively participates/assists during urgent care situations as directed; initiates and administers CPR as appropriate

Maintains current all records of medication and related health care provided in accordance with all applicable regulations, licensing requirements and standards

Performs visual inventory of stock and laboratory items; re-orders items to provide for availability of supplies for optimum efficient clinic operations

Performs a variety of activities to provide for the ongoing maintenance of the clinic’s environment

Participates in a variety of in-services and unit meetings to maintain understanding of office procedures and protocols

Refers problems beyond standards of practice to healthcare professional as appropriate

Participates in departmental orientation, on the job training and quality assurance programs/initiatives

Participates in a variety of department educational programs to maintain current skill and competency levels;

identifies and discusses performance or training needs with Supervisor

Perform other duties as assigned

One year of patient care experience preferred, not required

High School Diploma or GED Equivalent required

Medical Assistant Certification required

Current BLS certification

Hope Family Care is looking for a new person to join our team. The position available is a front office/referral coordinator. Previous experience with referrals/prior authorizations/insurance verification is preferred, but not required. Prior work with computers and programs such a microsoft word and excel needed to be successful in this position. We are a very busy 4-provider office. We need a self-motivated, customer service friendly, individual. You will work with a team of 4 front office team members. The positions is approx 25 hours a week. Hope will not be seeing patients on Mondays. We will have a limited staff available on Mondays to assist our patients. Phones will be answered as quickly as possible. Lab corp will be open to the public. The front doors to Hope will be open.

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we are transitioning into a new schedule.

We will be open Tuesday - Friday. Opening at 8 am every morning. Tuesday-Thursday will be out late night clinics.

HEALTHCARE INSURANCE BILLING-FOLLOWUP
This position monitors outstanding insurance accounts for payment. Corrects any incorrect billing and patient information to ensure timely payment of accounts. Communicates with patients and insurance carriers.

QUALIFICATIONS
High School diploma or GED equivalent
1 to 2 years of insurance billing preferred
Knowledge of general medical terminology
Skilled with multitasking abilities, detail-oriented, self-starter, and self-managed
Legible handwriting
Maintains self with professionalism at all times
Basic knowledge of computers. Previous experience with eClinicals preferred
Knowledge of office equipment such as telephone and fax machine

“Tomorrow I’ll get up and workout at 6:00 am!”

There's always tomorrow.

Where does the fox sleep? A fox can sleep more than 8 hours a day. They sleep near brush, or in low areas, near their den, so to not be seen by predators. Most foxes keep to themselves and avoid other animals as much as possible. Sounds like a good way to ease into the new year.
