The Well for Integrative Medicine

The Well for Integrative Medicine Wellness Center The Well for Integrative Medicine is a health center in Gloucester, on Cape Ann Ma.

where practitioners Bill Crosby and Rebecca Wallace provide alternative therapies for a broad range of health issues. The term 'integrative medicine' is the key to the way we practice. Integrative medicine is healing that analyzes and treats the entire person physiologically, psychologically, behaviorally, and spiritually. The treatment plan developed will often include not only the therapies we o

ffer, but also recommendations for behavioral changes in areas such as diet, exercise, or relaxation practices that may be vital to your recovery. Those who choose to participate in integrative medicine as patients become an active part of their own healing process, and will influence the effectiveness of their treatment as much as the practitioner through lifestyle choices and changing behavioral patterns.

Steve Lacey provides sound healing sessions, which can be one on one, for couples, in small groups or accompanying a yoga class. Steve is a certified sound bowl practitioner of the Singing bowl and Sound Institute of New York. His bowls are hand made by Tibetan monks of the Shakya clan. These bowls are one of a kind and are 80 to 200 years old.

A sound bath is a form of meditation in which a person or group experiences sound waves generated by bells, chimes, gongs or singing bowls. Those who find difficulty relaxing their minds in meditations are able to find stillness in sound baths that they have not experienced before.

Based on ancient healing techniques, vibrations of sound work on a cellular level to recalibrate the mind, body and spirit. These healing frequencies stimulate alpha and theta brain wave frequencies, balance the hemispheres of the brain and promote a sense of ease and inner peace. In addition to relief from chronic pain and migraines, benefits of sound bath include improved sleep, reduced stress and anxiety, as well as a renewed sense of well being, calm and happiness.

NEW PRACTITIONERS & OFFERINGS AT THE WELL!
Kara Trott, LMT - Shiatsu, cupping, Reiki, Mediumship, Hot Bamboo Massage
Kara is excited to launch her practice at The Well after practicing in Salem, MA for the past year. Kara has integrated ancient indigenous techniques into a modern fusion of spiritual, mental and physical healing by offering Shiatsu, Bamboo Fusion, Cupping and Neuromuscular techniques.

Kara is also a spiritual intuit and medium, uncovering deep insight into the emotional and mental origins of physical pain. Sessions for spiritual mediumship can be booked separately.

Shiatsu Fusion is done on a supportive floor cushion that gives opportunity for strategized stretching and deeper effleurage strokes. Shiatsu is the application of finger pressure to various Qi points or channels in the body, focusing on the joints and fascia to release deep and long-held stress.

Hot Bamboo Fusion incorporates the use of hot sticks to pull fascia layers and deeply stretch muscles. The ends of the bamboo sticks are applied to release trigger points.

Cupping techniques include strategic placing of plexiglass cups. The suction encourages blood flow and relieves muscle tension.

Neuromuscular technique is the application of pressure to the "trigger points" of the body to reduce pain. Kara blends all or some of each modality into her treatments, depending on the client's needs.

Whether you desire relaxation, Deep Tissue, or work on long term injuries or trauma, she is able to meet you where you are on your journey.
