Energize Body & Mind, LLC

Energize Body & Mind, LLC Energize Body & Mind empowers clients to achieve optimal health through diet and lifestyle coaching.

Tai Chi/Qigong, CHEK Holistic Lifestyle Coach, Shamanic Practitioner, Functional Diagnostic Nutrition Practitioner, Komyo Reiki Okuden, and author, Suzanne Sweeney, teaches people how to improve health through diet, movement, mindset, and relaxation. Using an individualized approach, clients are assisted in determining the specific needs of their body and mind to overcome ailments such as digestive disorders, stress, headaches, fatigue, and feeling stuck. Healing methods include advanced concepts in nutrition, functional movement, and relaxation techniques. Clients are given the knowledge, tools, and support needed to heal themselves, achieving results which last a lifetime. Suzanne’s background in math and science plus 20 years experience in the biotech industry support her grounded, rational approach to holistic healing while her life experiences, CHEK Institute education, intuition, and kind heart allow her to connect with each client in a unique and personalized way. CHEK Institute trained professionals are taught how to solve problems by looking at the whole individual, not just their symptoms. We don’t follow an algorithm; rather we identify what is essential to each individual’s development, then construct a carefully designed program to address their needs. This program includes diet, exercise, lifestyle factors, spiritual development, defining goals and dreams, and anything else that comes up. Though it is separate from health coaching, the opportunity to receive Reiki in conjunction with coaching is unique and can help you relax and gain clarity and insight, often allowing you to heal and reach your goals faster.

Dedication over perfection in taiji and all things.

When looking at what others do, I am less judgmental about what others may be doing with regards to how ‘correct’ something is technically. We all have our own idea of ‘correct’ and this really depends upon how we were taught and what information we were exposed to when learning.
More importantly, what often interests me, is how much time they have poured into what they are doing. I love to see somebody do something that they have committed countless hours into, no matter what it is. The ‘talented’ rarely impress me as much as the ‘dedicated’ as there is a great deal of self-development to be had from grinding away at any skill or practice day after day for many years. Those who have not been through this process so often lack something with regards to their character and understanding.
When I teach, I obviously try to pass on the methods as correctly as possible within the confines of what I personally feel to be correct, but I also try to instill the idea that the real key to all of this is the sheer commitment of time one has to our into these arts of the real treasure of them is to be found.
You can find page after page on the internet of people arguing over what principles are correct and incorrect. Most of these folks claim to have trained for decades and all seem to believe they have studied under the ‘real’ teacher of these arts, so how come they cannot come to a consensus on what is ‘correct’ with regards to how we do these arts? Perhaps it is a more subjective idea than we would like to think?
But generally, most agree that many hours of dedicated practice are required for whatever we are trying to master. If there is an agreement on that, may as well get on with doing it!
