NAMI Mid-Tidewater had a great day at the Walk! Our team won the tee shirt contest! Great to see so many people there… twice as many as last year. Another hearty thanks to John Smith for his avid fundraising efforts🩷 Great support from MPNN CSB.

Yay!! Congrats Charterhouse!!!

What a moment! We're honored to have our friends from Charterhouse Clubhouse with us for two weeks of training. They recently received the fantastic news that they have been officially accredited by Clubhouse International. This makes them the very first accredited Clubhouse in Virginia! We celebrated this major milestone by having them add a pin to our world map, joining a community of over 380 Clubhouses. Welcome to the family!

Prince William County is taking a monumental leap forward in mental health care! NAMI Prince William invites the community to an essential information session on June 11th to learn more about the highly anticipated Crisis Receiving Center (CRC) opening soon.

This state-of-the-art facility will provide direct, critical care for individuals in mental health and substance use crises, offering a vital alternative to emergency rooms and law enforcement involvement. The CRC is designed to be a safe and supportive haven, focusing on:

Connection to Long-Term Treatment: Ensuring seamless transitions to ongoing support and resources within the community for sustained recovery.
The Crisis Receiving Center represents a significant step towards a more responsive and compassionate behavioral health system in Prince William County. It will integrate essential services under one roof, fostering collaboration between healthcare providers, law enforcement, and community organizations to pave the way for a healthier, more resilient community.

🚨 The House is preparing to vote on their budget bill as early as TONIGHT. This bill still includes at least $715 billion in devastating funding cuts to Medicaid that will negatively impact people with mental illness.

NAMI MID-TIDEWATER proudly sponsored a RAD (R**e, Aggression, Defense) class this past weekend to empower women with self defense skills. The affiliate offered the class free to community members which involved book work and self defense skills. The class was very well received. Thank you Gen Anthony Wayne Ch 58, DAV - Virginia for use of their building for this important training.
