Last Sunday, we had the joy of celebrating the amazing mothers, grandmothers, and mother figures in our lives at our Mother’s Day Brunch at Sanders.

From delicious food to sweet conversations and lots of smiles, it was a beautiful afternoon spent honoring the women who mean so much to our community. Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the day so special.

We are grateful for the love, wisdom, kindness, and strength our mothers bring each and every day.💐

This past Mother’s Day, we celebrated the incredible impact of mothers both at home and in the workplace.

At Sanders, Angela Oliver’s dedication to caring for others inspired both of her children to follow paths of service and compassion. Angela serves as the Licensed Practical Nurse Supervisor for Heron Cove 2, her son Eddie is a Certified Nursing Assistant and future nurse, and her daughter Olivia supports the team as the facility’s inventory clerk.

The Oliver family is a beautiful reminder that compassion, kindness, and service can inspire generations.

Mother’s Day is today and no one understands a mother’s influence better than Olivia, 23, and Eddie Oliver, 21, whose career paths were inspired by their mom, Angela Oliver.

The three Olivers all work at Riverside Health’s Sanders, a retirement community in Gloucester. Angela is the licensed practical nurse supervisor for Heron Cove 2 on the Sanders campus, Eddie is a certified nursing assistant and Olivia is the facility’s inventory clerk.

“He’ll be a nurse at the end of the year,” said Angela about Eddie.

As we wrap up Nurses Week, we want to take a moment to recognize the incredible nurses who make Sanders such a special place. Your compassion, dedication, patience, and heart make a difference in the lives of our residents and families every single day.

We are also thrilled to celebrate our 2026 Florence Nightingale Award winner, Vanessa Laws! Vanessa exemplifies excellence in nursing through her kindness, leadership, and unwavering commitment to those she serves.

Yesterday was the 2026 Riverside Leadership Conference, and it was truly a day full of inspiration, connection, and meaningful conversations. We are grateful for the opportunity to network with so many of Riverside’s incredible leadership teams and to be surrounded by such passion and purpose.
