BASKETBALL UPDATE FROM JACKIE HARWOOD:

Hello Tigers families,
thank you all for your patience this Basketball season!!

Due to issues with the cities gym scheduling we are now going to be partnering with the YMCA. It is very exciting and will offer this league a lot!

The league is structured the same way as always but our games and practices will be held at the Y.

Sign ups will be at the YMCA every day starting today. You can go in to the front desk and sign up your child for new directions basketball. You will check their grade and the box marked TIGERS. All our boards will be going over the registrations together so I will make sure you are on your correct
team and coach from past seasons!

The fee is $85 for 3rd to 8th and 50$ for the k-2 program we started last year! Anyone with financial issues is offered full aid from the YMCA no one will be turned away you just need to fill out the paperwork.

If anyone encounters any issues please call me directly at 978-281-2928 or jackiecody73@yahoo.com and I will be happy to help you with your registration.

The practices and games will start as usual the second week in January! I will be in contact before then with your practice times and games! Please help me out by registering asap at the YMCA!

Basketball update!!

To All Parents
Subject – New Direction / Cape Ann Youth Basketball

I know many of you are inquiring as to the status of this upcoming season. We can at this time state we will have our standard season like we have for many years. However , this season has been a bit challenging due to court resource availability. Currently , our season which usually uses the GHS Field house will not be an option this year – due to safety concerns with the roof . Thus the basketball committee are working thru a few options to play the Saturday morning games. Once we have those confirmed and in place we will re open the recently closed registrations. The reason these were closed as to better serve our children we felt it was in the best interest to have these issues worked thru and resolved.
Each of the organizations , once these have been resolved will reach out to you execute the registration process like we have done over the years.
Possibly , we may have to invoke a slight increase to fee, this is relation to the fees being charged to the program by the City for building use and custodial costs. We the four organizations will work to keep this as minimal as possible so that we can minimize impacts to all .

Attention all Tigers players and families!!!!

GHS has been double booked all weekend. Our league is unable to use the gym this weekend so there are no games on January 16th. Those games will now be played on Sunday March 6th. Please mark the schedules you have been given accordingly- the same time and court are still in affect just moved to the new date.

All teams will still be practicing as scheduled this week!

Remember: All practices are now being held at Beeman school- same day and time as your team practiced last week!! Thanks

All practices will be held at Veterans School. Practices start next Monday, January 4th:

Girls C team- Monday 6-7pm

Boys C team- Tuesday 6-7pm

Boys B team- Tuesday 7-8pm

Girls B team- Thursday 6-7pm

Boys A team 1 (8th grade boys)- Friday 6-7pm

Boys A team 2 (7th grade boys)- Friday 7-8pm

Good evening Tigers-

Just wanted to get the information out there for this seasons basketball sign ups!

Tigers basketball sign ups will be: Saturday December 5th from 9:30am to 11:00am @ GHS
AND
Tuesday night December 8th from 5:30pm to 7:00pm @ GHS.

Registration fees are 40$ for K-2nd grade and 75$ for 3rd-8th grade
There is a family cap of $130. You MUST sign up at one of these dates in order for your child to play. Please call Jackie at 978-281-2928 if there is an emergency reason that you could not make it.

The league will also be holding a skills and drills clinic:
Saturday December 12th @ Rockport High School from 8:30am to 1:00pm for all players. Please call if you have any questions. Thank-you and we will see you at the sign ups at GHS!!!
