This 110%! Fox hunters are some of the most athletic horses that cover more ground/jumps than most people might realize. They are worth their weight in gold and deserve feeling their best too!

Comment to the fox hunters - just because you’re not galloping for the whole 5 hours that you’re out in the field does not mean that your horse didn’t have a taxing day. Go hike 7-8 miles, add a little backpack that weighs between 10-15% of your weight and some terrain. Even if you stop and hang around for a fair bit, I predict that you'll still be tired at the end of the day and crave rest and maybe even a little muscular rehab in the form of a hot tub or a massage.

Think of it as an oil change and tire alignment to avoid unnecessary wear and tear on your “vehicle”, as you would do for your truck, your trailer, your atv. It makes sense to maintain your equine ride in the same way, so that you can do the things you want to do with it for a long time.

Massage manually supples, separates and aligns muscle fibers to ease tight, sore muscles lengthen and supple myofascia, free painful nerves, improve circulation, increase range of motion and bring balance and biotensegrity back to the body to improve performance and soundness.

Cold misty mornings! I do love them but they mean your horses could be a bit more stiff than they normally are. Make sure to give them a little extra warm up for your ride.

Proper warm up, cool down, and exercise regimen promotes flexibility and strength in your horse. It also keeps your horse’s musculoskeletal system resilient and healthy.

Giving your horse a good brush before tacking up helps start the blood flow to their muscles. Then start out with a 10-15 minute walk before starting any strenuous activity. This helps warm up the muscles and lubricate the joints.

Happy hacking everyone!

This is so cool! I hope all your ponies haven’t been giving any of you tricks lately so they can get all the treats today!

We’re adding exercise rides to our list of services!

This summer was a whirlwind! I honestly can not believe it is over, the leaves are changing, horses are going into “they’re a bit fresh” stage, and the days are getting shorter!

Since fall is here and the dreaded short days of winter are approaching, we’re offering exercise rides to individual horses or barns who need someone to come out once or multiple times a week to help keep their horses going through the winter. Experience ranges from Dressage, Eventing, Fox Hunting, and Hunters; off the track thoroughbreds to schoolmasters. Send us a DM if you are interested in hearing more!
