This 110%! Fox hunters are some of the most athletic horses that cover more ground/jumps than most people might realize. They are worth their weight in gold and deserve feeling their best too!
Comment to the fox hunters - just because you’re not galloping for the whole 5 hours that you’re out in the field does not mean that your horse didn’t have a taxing day. Go hike 7-8 miles, add a little backpack that weighs between 10-15% of your weight and some terrain. Even if you stop and hang around for a fair bit, I predict that you'll still be tired at the end of the day and crave rest and maybe even a little muscular rehab in the form of a hot tub or a massage.
Think of it as an oil change and tire alignment to avoid unnecessary wear and tear on your “vehicle”, as you would do for your truck, your trailer, your atv. It makes sense to maintain your equine ride in the same way, so that you can do the things you want to do with it for a long time.
Massage manually supples, separates and aligns muscle fibers to ease tight, sore muscles lengthen and supple myofascia, free painful nerves, improve circulation, increase range of motion and bring balance and biotensegrity back to the body to improve performance and soundness.
