This week’s Testimony Tuesday features Hello Art And Soul 💛 During the warmer months, their adults with disabilities visit That’s the Dream Farm weekly to connect with nature, animals, and community. These moments are full of smiles, purpose, and so much heart! Here’s the testimony from Val Olson, Founder of Hello Art and Soul about their experiences at That’s the Dream:
“I had the privilege of bringing a group of cognitively challenged individuals to this farm, and what we experienced there was truly profound.
The farm’s mission—using the same relationship principles that guide healthy human connections to interact with horses—comes to life in the most natural and meaningful way. Through these gentle, intentional interactions, individuals are able to recognize their own relational responses and practice healthier, more trusting dynamics, all in a safe and supportive environment.
Watching our individuals connect with the horses was incredibly moving. There was a noticeable sense of calm that settled over them almost immediately. They were patient, open, and deeply accepting of the animals, and in return, the horses met them with the same quiet understanding. Barriers seemed to fall away. There was no pressure, no judgment—just connection.
This experience allowed our individuals to feel present, confident, and valued. The beauty of the setting, combined with the compassion and wisdom behind the farm’s work, created a space where true growth and healing could happen.
This farm is doing something very special. The impact they have—both on people and animals—is lasting, and I am deeply grateful for the opportunity they gave our individuals to experience connection in such a meaningful and empowering way.”
