Our team loved volunteering for Legacy Children's Foundation FUNdraiser! From setting up the event to serving sweet treats to everyone, it was truly a blast!

We’re so excited to introduce the next face in our Meet the Dream Team series, our incredible Program Director, Caleb Alnes! 👏

Caleb plays a huge role in making everything happen here at That’s the Dream Farm, and we can’t wait for you to get to know him a little better.

🐴What is your role at That’s the Dream Farm and how would you best describe it?
-Program Director/Coordinator?… 🤷‍♂️ haha
-I get to help serve and walk alongside the clients, teams, and individuals that come to the farm to help them and serve them with whatever is going on in that given moment.
-I also get to help empower them to help us create a space for us to come and be refreshed (more the volunteer side but don’t know if that needed as of now….)

🐴What’s your favorite part about working here?
-My favorite part is working alongside this amazing team and helping create a space for others to come and be refreshed and work through anything holding them back to be the best version of themselves!

🐴What’s your favorite category of clients you love to work with and why?
-This is a HARD question! Haha 🤣
-I love all categories of our clients for different reasons. I have really enjoyed working with our Genesis men as we have been able to build some deep long lasting relationships that go beyond what we do at the farm. It allows us to continue to support on a consistent basis.
-Some potential future clients that are more teen/young adult groups would also be one I am excited to connect with for similar reasons

🐴What’s your favorite restaurant/coffee shop in the F/M area?
-Another tough one… haha for food I love either Thaikota or Thai Orchid
-My go to for coffee (beyond just my own lattes at home) is 20 Below Coffee! Love the environment and people that work there!

🐴What do you love to do in your free time?
-Free time? 😉🙃 jk haha
-I love reading a good book, playing an occasion video game, spending time with my wife and kids. Not sure what else… haha

These days at That’s the Dream Farm the answer to “What’s Up?” really IS “Chicken Butt!”

Baby chicks can get blocked vents which can be deadly in 12-18 hours. So twice a day they get checked, and if needed, get their little rears cleaned.

(I guess my days of wiping multiple butts didn’t end when no longer an inpatient nurse 🤣)

The Raising Kids with Big Baffling Behaviors framework rests largely on the science of the stress response system.

Kids with big, baffling behaviors aren't reacting to nothing.

They are having a HUGE stress response.

Seeing behaviors through the lens of stress response system has been a game-changer for me.

It means we stop seeing behaviors as manipulative or controlling and start seeing them as stress response behaviors.

That reframe means we shift from trying to stop or change behaviors to trying to strengthen the stress response system.

That reframe changes everything.

This fits what we study so well I just had to share! While we aren’t counselors, Matthias is, and he has developed what looks to be an amazing program! I haven’t done it, but feel confident in highly recommending it!

Even if you just watch the intro session (about 45 minutes) you will learn and maybe even grow.

Fun and service at Legacy Children's Foundation FUNdraiser!

Several team members helped set up in the morning, then came back for the evening.

We are so blessed to be in this community where everybody works together!
