I took a screen shot of a post this week in a local community FB group. It got me thinking, and I hope it does you too.
What do you have within reach that could get you the space you need to keep someone out of your car?
How often do you drive with unlocked doors? (Some cars lock at certain speeds, but some do not)
How often are your doors unlocked while pumping gas/going into the gas station "real quick"?
How distracted are you while driving, and especially when stopped?
I am NOT saying this person did ANYTHING wrong! This is a terrifying situation that thankfully ended with no injuries and I wish none of us ever had to think about. I am sharing it as a teaching moment to bring things like this from the back of your mind to the front.
We as a society sometimes take safety for granted. Or we get tired of being vigilant all the time and don't want to "live in fear". Here at Damsel we don't want you to live in fear, we want you to live in preparedness. We want you to know what to do when you need to, but not be on constant edge.
So today, I urge you to think about your safety pre-plan and if you need ANYTHING you know I'm always here for you! 🌻🧡
