Dr. Jessica Carlson and CHN are pleased to welcome Pedro J. Ramirez, MD, general surgeon, to Curry General Hospital in Gold Beach. With Dr. Ramirez joining Dr. Carlson, general surgery coverage for the Emergency Department is now available 24/7.

Working opposite schedules, Dr. Ramirez and Dr. Carlson provide consistent surgical availability with a two-weeks-on/two-weeks-off rotation that also supports long-term work-life balance.

Dr. Ramirez is board-certified by the American Board of Surgery, trained at Brown University, the University of Alabama at Birmingham, and Johns Hopkins Hospital, and brings years of experience practicing in California, Wyoming, and Colorado. He has a strong passion for serving rural communities and looks forward to caring for patients in Curry County.

What a beautiful day to celebrate a brighter future for cancer care in Curry County! On June 26, CHN officially broke ground on our upcoming Chemotherapy Infusion Center—a project that means more local access, more comfort, and more support for patients right here at home.

From heartfelt words to golden shovels to cupcakes topped with tiny shovels (yes, really!), the day was filled with community spirit, purpose, and gratitude.
