Children are considered at risk for communication delay or disorder if they do not:
• Respond to sound during the first six weeks of life
• Use sounds, gestures, or eye contact to get attention by eight months
• Unders

tand some words by 10-12 months
• Use some words by 16-18 months
• Follow simple directions by 18-20 months
• Combine words to form ¬sentences by 30 months
• Use complete sentences or engage in brief conversation by 3.5 years

We have a new Speech Therapy Assistant (SLPA) joining our staff in June in person! If you are looking for speech therapy for the summer, contact us now! Some evaluations will still be virtual to fill the caseload. Appointments starting June 30 through the end of August with teletherapy appointments available after August.

Call our office for more information.

Current clients should have been asked by their therapist if they wanted an in person option. If you haven't been asked yet, feel free to call the front desk to get scheduled.

Depending on pouches multiple times per day can lead to poorly developed jaws, sensory motor issues with textures, and poor chewing. This is something we address with many of our feeding clients.

Using a spoon works different muscles and helps develop a good swallow. A pouch is a bottle in disguise.

Happy IBCLC day!
We are proud to offer Lactation support for families that have ongoing struggles with breastfeeding. DeNell became an IBCLC last year after taking 95 hours of coursework, over 500 hours of clinical and passing a board certification exam.

Happy National IBCLC Day! Did you know that we provide infant feeding therapy in our clinic in person? Our owner, DeNell Gallagher, is a Speech Language Pathologist that specializes in pediatric feeding. She is also an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC).

A referral is required from your doctor for an evaluation. Insurance covers the cost of the evaluation.

If you have an pain or discomfort with breastfeeding, low supply, clicking during feeding, low/slow weight gain, weight loss, clicking during feeding, difficult latching, bottle refusal/difficulty, pacifier refusal, feeds taking over 20 minutes or more frequently than every 2 hours you may benefit from an evaluation.

We will be closed for the 4th of July.  We will reopen Monday July 8th.
