Quick Curry Crock Pot Chicken

1 package of four chicken thighs cut in quarters
1 package of diced vegetables (about 12 oz)
2 cups of potato leek soup
3 tablespoons of curry power (adjust to taste)
Salt & Pepper

Mix in crockpot, set the time on low and enjoy with rice.

As shown:

61 grams protein (8 oz of chicken)
48 grams carbs
18 grams fat

Five-minute dinner

6.0 oz sautéed chicken breast (part of this week's meal prep)
4.0 oz riced cauliflower
1 cup of spinach
1 table spoon of olive oil5 cup of vegetable broth

Sauté the cauliflower and spinach for about 2 minutes, add the broth and chicken. Cook for about 2 more minutes and enjoy! 412 Calories, carbs 8g, protein 59g, fat 20g.

Bad Weather - no problem! A good workout doesn't have to happen in the gym.

I live in Minnesota, and while it generally takes a lot to slow us down in the winter, bad weather, icy drives, frigid temperatures are not great motivations for getting to the gym. In our daily lives, it's already hard enough to squeeze in a workout. Longer drives, and not being able to just walk in off the street in your gym shorts doesn't help. Why not try to work with what nature gives us? Shoveling snow is a great workout. Be intentional about it, do a few laps up and down the driveway using your arms for a good arm workout. Or, get yourself some snowshoes if you want a good leg workout. It's also great cardio.

December 4th is National Cookie Day. Yeah, isn't that just what we need!

It seems like it's actually more like cookie season with all the Christmas Cookies around. When you're on the extreme transformation path, this stuff is not helpful.
Pro tip: choose wisely. You will indulge. It is the season. So when you do, make sure it's for your grandma's cookies made with love rather than store bought cookies just hanging around in the office. For all those times when the struggle is real, I remember what my sister once told me: 'Nothing tastes as good as thin feels'.

Graennlab Life Meal Prep Hack & recipe

Making any type of change, especially a big one, is based on consistency. Change happen a little bit every day. For that to happen, one's workouts, mindset, nutrition has to be sustainable. Only the most dedicated bodybuilders can eat chicken breast, rice and broccoli every day. The rest of us must take a different approach. We need to eat food that is tasty, nutritions and easy to make. In in today's economy, that also means affordable.

Crockpot meals check all the boxes. Why not try this delicious and nutritions Fifteen Bean Soup.

1 Pork shoulder
1 20oz bag of 15 bean soup mix
1 cup of diced carrots
1 cup of diced celery
1 cup of diced onions
4 cups of kale
7 cups of water

Just toss it all into a crockpot, add spices to taste, and let it cook! 8 to 10 hours later, enjoy the fruits of your labors.

The times of the year when we changed the clocks forward or back would always be hard. Most of us are cued to eat by the clock. We have set times for breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, etc. Why not use this event as a time to break the clock's hold. Eat when you're hungry! Stop when you're satisfied. If you're not hungry at lunch time, eat at a different time if you can.

Breaking the link to outside influences telling you when you should eat, even if you're not hungry, can really help your progress.

This is so true, especially as we age. Being 60 and still learning to do new things is a real blessing.

One of the things that helped me lose 200 LBS setting up a schedule around food prep. Instead of making an entire week's worth of meals at once, and then being forced to eat them all week, I planned on Sunday and Wednesday. That made it much easier to actually eat what I prepared. It also turned out to be a great way to save money; less eating out and less throwing out of food!
