Dr. Robert Ostrow completed his undergraduate and earned his medical degree at the University of Minnesota. He pursued post-graduate work at the University of Illinois and the University of California, Los Angeles, before completing his ophthalmology residency at the University of Minnesota.
Dr. Ostrow is the founding partner of West Metro Ophthalmology, PA, and celebrated his 50th year practicing in 2025. Additionally, he is one of the founding associates of the Phillips Eye Institute. He is a board-certified ophthalmologist and a Life Member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. He is also a member of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery and the Wilderness Medical Society.
While no longer performing surgical procedures in the operating room, Dr. Ostrow continues to provide expert care through in-office laser treatments and the full spectrum of medical ophthalmology. With a commitment to long-term patient relationships, Dr. Ostrow diagnoses and manages a wide range of eye conditions, diseases and routine vision care. Known for a thoughtful and patient-centered approach, Dr. Ostrow focuses on delivering personalized care tailored to each patient's unique visual needs. His expertise, dedication, and leadership have contributed significantly to the field.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Ostrow enjoys an active lifestyle with his wife. They love skiing, hiking, biking, and other outdoor activities. He takes great joy in his family, which includes one son and two grandchildren.
