Dr. Luke Dolezal is a cataract and glaucoma surgeon. He offers both standard cataract surgery as well as advanced technology intraocular lenses (IOLs), including Toric IOLs for correction of astigmatism, Multifocal IOLs for correction of presbyopia, and Light Adjustable IOLs, which allow for adjustments in focus following surgery.
He is a fellowship-trained glaucoma specialist and has extensive experience in all aspects of glaucoma care, including medical treatment, laser treatment, and surgery. He offers minimally invasive surgery options including the iStent trabecular bypass stent, Goniotomy, iDose intracameral medication implant, and the XEN Gel Stent. He also performs traditional glaucoma surgery for more severe glaucoma, including trabeculectomy and tube shunt implantation. He strives to work closely with each patient to select treatments that best match their unique needs and circumstances, to prevent glaucoma-related vision loss while maintaining the best quality of life possible.
Dr. Dolezal grew up in Appleton, Wisconsin, and completed his undergraduate degree at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. He earned his medical degree at the University of Minnesota, where he was selected for Alpha Omega Alpha, a medical academic honor society, as well as the Gold Humanism Honor Society, which recognizes individuals who excel in clinical care, leadership, compassion, and dedication to service. He completed his internship year at Hennepin County Medical Center and his ophthalmology residency at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City. Dr. Dolezal then pursued specialized training in glaucoma through a fellowship at the University of Alabama-Birmingham (UAB) Callahan Eye Hospital, one of the busiest and most highly respected eye centers in the country. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Glaucoma Society.
Dr. Dolezal was honored to be named a 2025 Minneapolis St. Paul Magazine Top Doctor: Rising Star, a recognition by his peers for significant achievements in the first decade of his profession.
Dr. Dolezal keeps busy outside of his practice spending time with his wife and three children. He enjoys outdoor activities including running, hiking, and enjoying Minnesota’s natural beauty and many lakes.
