Neptune Minneapolis Service Manager Michelle Rischmiller recognized and thanked local care facilities for their compassion with so many of the families we serve. In the spirit of Halloween, we filled festive baskets with treats and swag for staffers at The Pillars – Beyond Hospice Home in Oakdale, Good Samaritan Society in Inver Grove Heights, Our Lady of Peace Hospice Home in St. Paul, and NC Little Hospice Home in Edina.

With great sadness, the Jane Goodall Institute confirmed this morning the passing of the organization’s founder, Dr. Jane Goodall, age 91 who died peacefully in her sleep while in Los Angeles, CA for her speaking tour in the United States.

Dr. Goodall’s life and work not only made an indelible mark on our understanding of chimpanzees and other species, but also of humankind and the environments we all share. She inspired curiosity, hope and compassion in countless people around the world, and paved the way for many others — particularly young people who gave her hope for the future.

In 1960 Dr. Goodall established the longest running wild chimpanzee study in Gombe National Park, Tanzania which continues to this day. She pioneered and sustained the Jane Goodall Institute’s community-centered conservation initiatives across the chimpanzee range for over four decades. Her legacy includes the creation of JGI’s international environmental and humanitarian youth program Roots & Shoots, which is actively driving change in 75 countries and counting around the world.

Neptune Minneapolis Service and Sales teams sponsored a table at Grace Hospice's Gather with Grace event. Unlike many other hospices in our community, Grace Hospice is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that provides care regardless of a person’s ability to pay. They rely on the philanthropic support of partners like Neptune to provide unique programs and services not covered by insurance - things like music therapy, massage therapy, and pet visits; legacy writing; Touch of Grace special requests; and extended bereavement support for families.
“We had such a fun time at this event,” Service Manager Michelle Rischmiller said. And we are truly grateful for this special place.

A group from the Neptune corporate office spent an afternoon volunteering with Feeding South Florida, and helped sort 9,542 pounds of food, which will provide more than 8,000 meals for those in need.
September is Month, to raise awareness about food insecurity and mobilize communities to take action against hunger in the United States. Organizations like Feeding South Florida coordinate efforts to educate the public, encourage donations and volunteerism, and advocate for policy changes to address the root causes of hunger and poverty. We're so honored to be part of this effort.

A lovely family we served sent Neptune Minneapolis Funeral Director Brianna Haglin this bouquet of beautiful pink roses in thanks for her respect and kindness with both them and the family member they lost.
"We realized we knew people in common," Brianna said. "It was a great visit and connection. You never know the people you’ll meet while serving them."
Nothing means more to us than making a time of sorrow easier for families to bear.

We love our pets here at Neptune Minneapolis, and wanted to find a way to give to the community. We chose animal rescue The Bond Between; Service Manager Michelle Rischmiller brought treats for humans as well as for pets. After touring the facility, we got to spend time cuddling the pets. 🐾❤️
