Feeling so deeply grateful for the many blessings that came this month…especially being ordained as a Buddhist Lama after several years of study and practice, taught by one of my most beloved teachers, Sifu .jerryalanjohnson through the temple Bian Hua Gong — learning with him is a blessing that keeps opening worlds in me.

Feeling so blessed and grateful to officially take my oath as Dr. Dina! This Chinese Energetic Medicine program is a profound blessing that keeps unfolding in and around me…the way it came together and continued is nothing short of miraculous.

I’ve been blessed to work in a wonderful holistic health group for the last year with this beautiful system, and I’m so excited and grateful to step into my new role as a full doctor, sharing this medicine with those the Divine sends my way.

I’m feeling such deep gratitude for my Sifu, .jerryalanjohnson for his deeply kind, loving, and wise wife Dr. Erika, and for our TAs, Sifu Will, and for how unbelievably above and beyond they all go in supporting not only our education, but our growth as people.

It’s been almost 5 years now, and I am in absolute awe of the amount of love and wisdom each of them has poured into every single one of us over this time. We graduate his doctors in three months, and I find myself at a loss to begin to describe my gratitude to them. How do you thank someone for completely changing your life, nourishing your heart, and opening an entirely new world to you that finally made you feel like you were home? Who shows up no matter what’s going on in their life, no matter how they’re feeling, impeccable with their word and character, and always has a kind word for you no matter how much is on their shoulders…

I don’t think there are words that could ever be enough, but I hope that my actions as a doctor can go some way towards honoring them and all they’ve done and continue to do.

The process of growing into a Chinese Energetic Medicine Doctor has been so much more than learning information and doing my reps in the clinic. It is such a journey of unwinding, unlearning, questioning, remembering, uncovering, and above all, feeling and trusting. It’s learning how to surrender to the Divine and get out of my own way so that real healing can take place. It’s about staying in a constant state of curiosity and deep listening. Making another millimeter of progress each day. Death and rebirth. I don’t know how I got so blessed to be in this program, to learn and be blessed with support from people who have the kind of radiance I’ve searched for my whole life, but I will always be profoundly grateful.

🌞 Embracing Late Summer Vibes! 🌻✨

Hey Insta fam! As we transition into late summer, it's essential to nourish and support our spleen qi! 🍉🌾💪

Late summer is all about abundance, harvesting the last fruits, and preparing for the season ahead. To keep our bodies in balance and thriving, here are some tips to support our spleen qi during this time:

1️⃣ Savor seasonal fruits like watermelon, peaches, and grapes. These juicy treats are not only delicious but also help strengthen our digestive system.

2️⃣ Opt for warm, cooked foods prepared with love. Steamed veggies and soups infused with Chinese herbs are excellent choices since they're gentle on our spleen.

3️⃣ Sip on herbal teas like ginger, mint, or chamomile to soothe our digestive fires and keep our energy flowing smoothly.

4️⃣ Don't forget to stay hydrated by enjoying a refreshing glass of water infused with a slice of lemon or cucumber!

5️⃣ Engage in activities that make you feel grounded and connected—yoga, tai chi, or a simple walk in nature can work wonders for our spleen qi.

Let's support our bodies together and make the most of this beautiful late summer season! 🌿💫

There are 3 important essentials that can make or break your healing process:

1. Knowing how to downregulate your nervous system. This includes things such as self-soothing techniques, meditation, and journaling, to emotionally recalibrate during upset.

2. Safety. Are you in a place where you have to be on constant alert, or is your home (and the people in it) a sanctuary? A wound can’t heal when it’s constantly re-cut, and the same goes for our emotional wounds. If you’re in an unsafe situation, your first step is to leave, not to deal with it more gracefully. Healing can come after you’re in a safe environment.

3. Support. Do you have people in your life who support your healing? Our social environments can be much stronger than our willpower, and become part of our “inner voice,” so it’s important to consider who we spend our time with. Are they people who encourage you, and who are growing, or are they people who stay the same and feel threatened or jealous when you make progress?

I feel especially grateful today for my other half, Arman, and how he supports each of these essentials in our daily life.

Headshot for my new job doing Chinese Energetic Medicine and emotional processing sessions! Allow me to reintroduce myself with a few sections from my bio:

Dina is an international speaker, healer, author of Date Better, Darling!, and has been featured on national television, radio, and podcasts in the US and abroad. She’s had a natural health practice in several states and countries since 2007, specializing in complementary cancer care, chronic illness, detoxification, healing food plans, trauma, digestive disorders, and supporting the developmentally disabled community.

Dina also has a degree as a Chinese Energetic Medicine Therapist and is pursuing her Doctorate as well. She has a deep love for the way Chinese medicine honors the whole person, supporting their body, energy, emotions, and spirit.

When she was younger, Dina struggled with serious health and mobility issues and found little relief in standard allopathic practices. Her journey toward healing led her to study holistic nutrition, mysticism, western herbalism, detox protocols, energy work, Chinese medicine, meditation, and emotional healing work, all of which are integral parts of her practice. The deeper she went in learning and healing, the more she realized that each wellness and spiritual system had profound truths that could support her clients on their road to becoming their most healthy, joyous selves, and she decided to open her heart to wisdom in all traditions. With Dina’s training, she can counsel, support, and offer healing wisdom for each stage of a person’s life. Her practices respect and welcome people of all traditions and lifestyles with an open heart.

One of the biggest lessons Dina learned was how our relationships with ourselves and others have a profound effect on our health, self-esteem, and life purpose. To support this, she wrote a book about dating in a way that supports self-love, inner reflection, and meaningful connections with others, and created special programs to help people find love while loving themselves.

My much-awaited table has finally arrived! I love the soft, conversational, feel of it. I feel like it brings a sweet, cozy, feel to the room.

When I was younger, I didn’t own furniture. Everything I had either had to fit in some backpacks or a 90s era Honda Civic. I didn’t even own a bed until my late 20s. Sitting here today at this beautiful table, watching the sunlight filter into the room, I feel so grateful for this moment, for having a home, and for having the ability to create a space that nurtures my energy.

Loving today’s lesson from A Course In Miracles. I had such a different experience of how I saw God growing up, with a lot of fear, guilt, and shame. The more I grow, the more I see that it’s perfectly acceptable for my path to be about joy. Suffering isn’t the price of admission; growth is.

Sometimes, things don’t go the way you expect.

I expected to have a very different few weeks than I did. Vacations, excitement, celebration. Instead, I was hit by an SUV and my car was totaled. I have been recovering from a nasty concussion and a broken nose, and I’m just starting to be able to stare at a screen for longer periods of time.

It was a bumpy few weeks, and I definitely had some moments of feeling incredibly overwhelmed.

But you know what? I have so much to be grateful for. Even as I saw the car coming towards me, I knew I was going to be ok. I knew that the divine brought me this far, and that my story has so many beautiful chapters waiting to be written.

We don’t always know why things happen, and I definitely am not in a place where I have full clarity on all the gifts of this situation, but I’m grateful to be here. I’m grateful to keep exploring this life, to keep opening to love, to continuing my adventure.
