A simple kids activity sparked a series of events that led to the formation of Sweet Jane's Succulents. Angela made a few succulent terrariums with her boys. The lure of dirt therapy led to a few more, and a few more. Her love of thrifting also fueled the terrarium-making - she kept finding containers perfect for terrariums. She continued creating, and soon, friends of friends were asking to buy h

er terrariums. Then, she discovered the vintage camper that now carries the name Sweet Jane (Angela's middle name is Jane) - and thus, Sweet Jane’s Succulents was born. Sweet Jane’s Succulents blends owner Angela West’s biggest passions: nature, education, and connections. Raised in Kansas, an affinity for nature drew her to Colorado for college - and she’s called the state home ever since. She fell in love with gardening at a young age. Planting flowers with her mother serves as a treasured childhood memory. As an adult, she developed a passion for succulents - not just caring for them, but also sharing them. She propagated a beloved jade plant, cutting pieces for friends and family. Angela’s love of helping children led her to earn a master’s degree in special education and a bachelor’s degree in communication, both from the University of Colorado at Denver. She was a special education teacher for five years. Now, she and her husband have two rambunctious young boys. Running Sweet Jane’s Succulents affords Angela the opportunity to connect with others through nature, and she continues her passion for education by teaching customers about planting.
