Are you between 7-16 weeks pregnant and already in prenatal care from your physician or midwife? If so, please consider volunteering as an ultrasound model. Our nurse will do a free limited ultrasound scan (dating/viability scan), and you can come home with a picture of your baby!
By volunteering, you help us build the best appointment flow for future clients and help our thoroughly trained nurse maintain her skills and gain practice with the new equipment.
We currently have slots available Wednesday, March 4 and Monday, March 9. Call 509-767-7379 or visit goldendaleprc.org/modelscans to see available times, gestational ages, and how to prepare.

* Taking Care of Yourself: Things like postpartum healing, rest, nutrition, exercise, and knowing how to handle the baby blues help you settle into your new role as a mom. This video will share tips on what to expect after giving birth and how a postpartum woman can take great care of herself.

* Taking Care of Them (Class for Dads): It’s done! You made it through pregnancy and labor and delivery! The baby is out and home. Well, wipe the sweat off your brow and roll up your sleeves, cause you’re not done yet! She will need a lot of time to heal and rest, and that means your help! In this video, we give practical tips for how to best support and take great care of her and the baby during the postpartum time.

*Postpartum Body Image: The emotional and spiritual journey of embracing postpartum body image, focusing on healing, acceptance, and celebrating the changes brought by motherhood.

*Postpartum Depression: This video looks at the “baby blues,” postpartum depression, and the difference between them. We’ll also talk about what to do if you have postpartum depression and some helpful tips on how to function at home and improve your mood.

As recently as twenty-five years ago, we thought unborn babies were unaware of anything outside the womb. That secret place inside, where your unborn baby resides, is not a deep, dark cave where they are hidden away awaiting birth. Far from it. Many less-common but important topics of infant care are often not discussed, particularly from a researched and documented position. This 19-minute video provides mothers with information on a variety of less-common subjects that are important to the well-being of their children. Some of these include how to hold a newborn, techniques for soothing a crying baby, bed sharing, burping, infant walkers, pacifiers, and more. Each section is based on research and professional recommendations by leading medical organizations. After watching this video, new parents will be able to make informed and study-based choices in each subject for the care of their newborns.
