Fitness is your guide to self-care, confidence, and body positivity. We are not telling you what size clothes you need to be in, we are here to help you design fitness for you to help you:
Take more walks
Lower blood pressure
Play with your dog (or any other animals, we don't judge)
Be there for a grand child, to see what they can become.

Fitness is only partly physical, its mostly mental and a huge part of that is your support for it.

TOO SERIOUS!!

Ever been to a class that was trying to show you something healthy and everyone is just too serious? it's hard to think of yourself doing it more if it becomes a chore.

Personal interactions in our small classroom are designed to cater to the healing of our inner child. Everything has room for a wiggle, a laugh, and a good story.

Being too serious can also feel like a judgment. We like to create an atmosphere in everything we do that welcomes and invigorates those who come to play.

It doesn't matter if it's physical or mental health fitness, no one should ever feel like another is judging them.

Our entire outlook is the individual needs the attention of the heart. We focus on the support system along with the fitness.

Fitness without true support leads to people not wishing to continue.

The answer is just that, different colors.

The black belt symbolizes the beginning of the path, not the end. It is the beginning of understanding, not any mastery.

The white belt symbolizes your desire to FIND the path.

Anywhere that guarantees a black belt within a year or even 5, does not care about you, it is a dangerous place.

There are many different types of meditation, including:

Mindfulness meditation: Encourages being aware of the present moment without judgments

Body scan meditation: Involves focusing on different areas of the body to tune out distractions and become more aware of feelings and issues with out bodies.

Progressive muscle relaxation: Involves tensing and relaxing different muscle groups to increase awareness of physical sensations and move attention away from mental activity

Breath meditation: Involves focusing on breathing to focus on the moment
Visualization meditation: Involves bringing to mind an image that creates a particular feeling or quality

Meditation in motion: Involves practicing meditation while moving in some way (for example Tai Chi)

Saturday Story Time!

Once upon a time, in the picturesque town of Green Valley, nestled amidst the rolling hills and wide fields, there lived a young boy named Kiran. Kiran, a shy and reserved child, often found himself grappling with the challenges of daily life, struggling with low self-esteem and the inability to assert himself.

Enter the Teacher, a wise and disciplined martial arts instructor who had traveled the world in pursuit of knowledge and enlightenment. The Teacher decided to open a Karate Dojo in the heart of their town, seeking to impart his wisdom and empower the community.

Intrigued by the prospect of learning self-defense and gaining confidence, Kiran decided to take the plunge. Little did he know that this decision would mark the beginning of an extraordinary transformation. Under the watchful guidance of the Teacher, Kiran embarked on his Karate journey. The Dojo itself was a sanctuary of ancient wisdom and tradition.

Kiran not only learned physical techniques, but he also spoke of invaluable life lessons. Through the discipline and focus demanded by Karate training, Kiran gradually cultivated a deep well of inner strength and confidence.

The repetitive movements, the precision, and the mental fortitude required in every session began to shape Kiran's spirit and fortify his character. He found himself standing taller, speaking up for himself, and facing challenges with unwavering determination.

As Kiran progressed in his Karate practice, he unearthed the significance of respect, perseverance, and self-control. The Teacher, a master storyteller, would often regale the students with ancient parables and anecdotes, instilling in them the wisdom of ages.

These principles transcended the confines of the Dojo, shaping Kiran's interactions with others and his approach to life. Kiran's heightened self-assurance and self-discipline also left a positive imprint on his academic performance and personal relationships.

In due course, Kian evolved into a role model for other children in the community, igniting a spark in them to pursue their own paths of self-improvement. His journey in Karate not only transformed his own life but also rippled outwards, touching the lives of those around him.

As the months turned into years, Kiran's once tentative steps evolved into graceful and powerful movements, a testament to his dedication and growth. Through Karate, Kian found purpose, empowerment, and resilience.

He learned to embrace challenges as catalysts for growth and to approach life with an indomitable spirit. As he continued to tread the path of Karate, he knew that he had stumbled upon a lifelong practice that would continue to enrich and mold his life for the better.

Karate is not a sport, Karate is the betterment of self.

Ikigai is a Japanese concept about finding joy, fulfillment, and balance in the daily routine of life, this works hand in hand with Karate most of the time but can be taught alone.

The journey to discovering one’s Ikigai is deeply personal and requires self-reflection, self-awareness, and a willingness to explore new possibilities.

There is a Venn diagram you will find on the internet when you google ‘ikigai’. This is NOT Ikigai. This is not how Ikigai works. They do not use this framework, and no one uses this to contemplate the four questions in the framework anyone thinks of their Ikigai.

Our classes are for any age and any ability.

Our teaching style is not a McDojo. We will never promise anything other than you will have fun and you will sweat. You will also learn how to listen to your body and understand more about physical fitness than any machine or weight could ever do.

No one is too old or broken for any fitness.

We have nationally certified trainers on staff for both fitness and nutrition.

Our staff has over 30 years of training in body mechanics and exercise.

We have specialty training in exercising while disabled or injured and can help you understand why Physical Therapy prescribes certain activities.

We have specialty training in Autism and other developmental disabilities for fitness.

We teach body weight exercises so you don't need equipment to follow along.
