Happy Mother’s Day to the fiercest force on Earth: MOTHERS.
Whether you became a mother through birth, adoption, or love—you are the heartbeat of your home and the world.
As a doula, I’ve seen the incredible strength, grace, and power mothers carry. Today, let’s celebrate that with some awe-inspiring facts about mamas:
Did you know…
• A mother’s body literally grows a new organ (the placenta) during pregnancy—then safely releases it when its job is done.
• Mothers have been found to experience cellular changes during childbirth, with some fetal cells staying in a mother’s body for decades—healing and supporting her from the inside.
• The maternal brain actually restructures itself after birth—making moms more emotionally attuned and alert to their baby’s needs.
• Mothers can regulate a newborn’s temperature, heart rate, and stress levels just by holding them skin-to-skin. That’s not magic—it’s biology.
• Oxytocin, the “love hormone,” released during labor and breastfeeding, literally rewires the brain for connection and compassion.
Today, and every day, may we honor the unseen labor, the deep wisdom, and the unmatched resilience of mothers.
To every mama I’ve walked beside in birth, postpartum, and beyond—you are a miracle in motion.
