Anxiety affects as many as one in ten children at any given time—and when it keeps a child from giving a class presentation, joining a sleepover or playing on a team, it crosses the line from normal worry into an anxiety disorder. Recognizing the signs early and taking action can set a child on a path to confidence and long-term well-being.

Key points to watch for:

- Avoidance of everyday activities—refusing to speak in class, attend a friend’s house or try new things

- Physical symptoms—frequent headaches, stomach aches or restlessness without an obvious cause

- Interference with daily life—difficulty sleeping, concentrating in school or keeping up with peers

What really helps?

- Pediatrician first: start with your child’s doctor to rule out medical issues and get a referral to a child-friendly mental health specialist.

- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) with gradual exposure: under the guidance of a skilled therapist, children face mildly scary situations and build coping skills in small, manageable steps.

- Short-term SSRI medication when needed: if therapy alone isn’t available or effective, selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors can be safely used for one to two years. After a year of stability, your provider can guide a gradual taper to see if symptoms remain under control.

- Prevention of future problems: treating childhood anxiety not only improves life today, but may reduce the risk of depression in adolescence and adulthood.

At TruWealth Home Care and Behavioral Health, our experienced team combines evidence-based therapies, medication management, and family support to help children and teens overcome anxiety. Reach out today to learn how we can partner with you to restore your child’s confidence and joy.

Are you staying in bed for hours without energy or motivation?

This behavior is commonly known as “bed rotting”—the act of remaining in bed for extended periods as a coping mechanism for emotional or mental distress.

While taking time to rest can be helpful, chronic bed rotting may indicate deeper mental health concerns that need attention.

What causes bed rotting?

• Prolonged stress and burnout
• Anxiety or depression
• Emotional overwhelm
• Lack of structure or routine

What are the effects?

• Disrupted sleep cycles
• Increased isolation
• Reduced motivation and mental clarity

What can help?

• Creating a consistent daily routine
• Engaging in light physical activity
• Opening up to someone you trust
• Seeking support from a mental health professional

At TruWealth Home Care and Behavioral Health, we provide compassionate and personalized behavioral health services to help you or your loved ones address underlying issues and begin the journey to wellness.

Starting Anxiety Medication Safely: What You Should Know

Managing anxiety can be challenging, but the right medication, combined with expert support, can make a real difference.

Start by having an open conversation with your healthcare provider. Be honest about your symptoms, your medications, and ask about what to expect.

Important tips to remember:

- Always follow your prescribed dosage, even if results are not immediate.

- Watch for side effects like nausea, restlessness, or dizziness.

- Take your medication consistently each day to help it work effectively.

- Avoid mixing anxiety medications with certain substances without medical advice.

- Track your symptoms and progress to share with your provider.

- Never stop medication suddenly—always consult a professional for a safe plan.

Medication works best when combined with healthy habits like a balanced diet, exercise, and quality sleep.

Taking this step is a powerful move toward better mental health.

If you or a loved one needs guidance, reach out to TruWealth Homecare and Behavioral Health.

Our team is here to support your journey to wellness.

Athletes are strong—but that doesn’t mean they’re not struggling.

Behind every game, medal, or personal best, many athletes—especially student-athletes—face intense mental challenges. Pressure to perform, fear of failure, juggling school and sports, dealing with injuries, and even the pressure to look a certain way can lead to anxiety, depression, eating disorders, and substance use.

These mental health struggles can be just as serious as physical injuries. But while sprains and breaks get quick attention, emotional wounds often go unseen.

Did you know?

Nearly all athletes, at some point in their career, face mental health issues. From burnout to self-esteem struggles, from sleep deprivation to trauma—many carry the weight silently.

But they don’t have to.

With the right support—like therapy, proper rest, healthy routines, and professional mental health care—athletes can overcome these challenges and thrive both in and out of their sport.

Here’s how you can support the athlete in your life:

- Be a safe space. Let them talk without judgment.

- Encourage breaks. Rest is part of growth.

- Focus on well-being, not just winning.

- Get professional help when needed. Therapy isn’t weakness—it’s strength.

Mental and physical health go hand in hand. Prioritizing both ensures long-term success, well-being, and happiness for our athletes.

At TruWealth Home Care and Behavioral Health, we understand the unique pressures that athletes face. Our experienced team provides personalized mental health support for teens, student-athletes, and anyone navigating performance pressure, anxiety, or trauma.

If you or someone you love is struggling, don’t wait.

Reach out to TruWealth Home Care and Behavioral Health today. Let’s build strength from the inside out.

Hospital to Home: Why Transitional Care Matters

Leaving the hospital can bring relief—but also stress. For seniors and family caregivers, adjusting to life at home after a hospital stay can be overwhelming. That’s where transitional home care comes in.

At TruWealth Home Care and Behavioral Health, we help make this transition smoother, safer, and more successful.

What Is Transitional Home Care?
It’s short-term support from professional caregivers to ensure recovery stays on track. We help manage post-hospital needs, follow discharge instructions, and reduce the risk of being readmitted.

📊 Nearly 1 in 5 Medicare patients is readmitted within 30 days of discharge. Proper care at home can prevent this.

How We Help:
• Care Coordination – We attend discharge meetings, clarify instructions, and help coordinate follow-ups
• Personalized Care – From medication help to meal prep and daily tasks, we tailor care to your needs
• Follow-Up Support – We help schedule and attend appointments, provide transport, and take notes
• Companionship – We support emotional health, helping reduce isolation and promoting engagement

Why It Matters:
✔️ Prevents readmissions
✔️ Improves quality of life
✔️ Reduces stress for families

Transitional care isn’t just about recovery—it’s about restoring confidence and peace of mind for everyone involved.

Let us help your loved one come home safely.
Contact TruWealth Home Care and Behavioral Health today to learn how we can support your family during this important time.

Why Respite Care Matters—for You and Your Loved Ones

Being a caregiver is rewarding—but it’s also physically, emotionally, and mentally demanding. That’s where respite care comes in. It’s more than just a break; it’s essential for your health and your loved one’s well-being.

For Caregivers:

• Prevents burnout by giving you time to rest and recharge
• Protects your health—caregivers are at higher risk of anxiety, depression, and illness
• Lets you handle other responsibilities, like work, family, and errands
• Supports self-care so you can eat well, exercise, and practice healthy habits
• Allows you to travel with peace of mind
• Helps you maintain your identity—you are more than your caregiving role
• Strengthens your relationship through healthy time apart
• Restores your energy, patience, and focus

For Your Loved One:

• Ensures care continues during emergencies or time away
• Provides companionship and social interaction
• Encourages joy and stimulation through activities
• Offers a refreshing change of scenery

For Families:

• Supports life transitions like hospital discharge
• Expands the care team with professional guidance
• More affordable than full-time or long-term care
• Reduces stress and promotes healthier family dynamics

Whether you need a few hours or a few weeks, respite care offers the space to breathe—without compromising your loved one’s care.

At Truwealth Home Care and Behavioral Health, we provide flexible, compassionate respite services tailored to your needs. From personal care to companionship, we’re here so you don’t have to do it all alone.

Take care of yourself—while we take care of them.

Are you or a loved one struggling with daily tasks but want to stay in the comfort of your own home?

It might be time to consider Personal Care Services—a compassionate, practical solution that supports independence and improves quality of life.

Here’s what you need to know about Personal Care Services:

• Personalized assistance with hygiene, grooming, and dressing to help individuals maintain dignity and confidence.
