What if the tools to handle stress, anxiety, and pressure were actually simple, and accessible?
Over the past few years, one thing has become increasingly clear: youth mental health is in crisis.
Post pandemic stress, academic pressure, and career uncertainty are pushing university counseling systems to their limits.
And yet, there are tools that work.
A Yale University study found that the SKY Breathwork Program, founded by Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, produced some of the strongest improvements in stress, anxiety, and overall well-being compared to other leading interventions. Today, SKY has reached 150+ campuses, including Harvard, Yale, and MIT, and impacted over 650,000 students across North America.
At SKY @ UCSB, we’ve seen this impact firsthand.
Over the past 10 years, our club has:
• Hosted ~50 fully funded SKY Happiness Retreats
• Reached 375+ students on campus
• Built a community centered around resilience, breathwork, and mental well-being
But beyond the numbers, this is deeply personal.
These practices supported so many students through their time at UCSB, especially in moments of panic attacks, imposter syndrome, loneliness, and the constant pressure to perform. And I’ve seen these same tools help other students navigate everything from homesickness to family stress, and even more serious mental health challenges.
That’s why this moment feels so special.
On April 9, Gurudev will be in Santa Barbara for ‘The Journey Within,’ and it feels incredibly meaningful that, after years of grassroots work on campus, students now have the chance to learn directly from the source.
At the event, you’ll:
• Learn practical breathing and meditation techniques to manage stress and boost energy
• Build clarity and focus for academics, research, and leadership
• Experience a deeper sense of calm and resilience

If you’re a student, educator, or just someone navigating a lot right now, this is truly a rare opportunity to pause, reset, and reconnect.
We’d love to have you there,
