🔹Vaccination Update from your local Goochland Pharmacy 🔹

We have received numerous inquiries and questions regarding the COVID 19 Vaccine over the past few weeks. We understand the media coverage is very confusing and sometimes even contradictory, so we wanted to try to explain the simplistic version of the availability and guidelines we, as your local Pharmacists, are required to abide by, set by the Virginia Department of Health (VDH).

All Vaccines must undergo FDA approval. Once approved by FDA, it then moves to the Advisory Committee of immunization Practices (ACIP), which sets the guidelines and terms that give Pharmacists and other healthcare practitioners the authorization to administer the vaccine without a prescription from a medical doctor.

On August 27, 2025 the FDA approved the COVID1 9 vaccination for 2025/2026 season, for adults 65 years of age or older, and those under 65 with at least one underlying condition that puts them at higher risk of severe outcomes of the COVID 19 virus.

In the State of Virginia (along with 15 other states), Pharmacists are only allowed to to administer vaccines once ACIP approves the vaccination. ACIP is set to meet next on Sept 18th and 19th.

However, on Thursday, September 11, 2025, the VDH Commisioner issued a Statewide Standing Order authorizing pharmacists to administer the COVID-19 vaccine to adults consistent with FDA indication, while ACIP approval is still pending.

Since 2021, Goochland Pharmacy has administered the Moderna Covid 19 Vaccine annually. We will continue to do so, for any patient that requests it. The Moderna vaccines are set to ship in 10-14 days from our earliest possible order date of 9/12/25. As in years past, they will be given by appointment only. 🌲🌲TAKING PREORDERS NOW UNTIL 7/24🌲🌲

A Pre-order means, some of our Pharmacy Family will head to southwest VA to a well respected Christmas Tree farm, and pick you out a beautiful tree, the type
and size you request, cut it and haul them all back to Goochland Mid November.

When the shipment arrives at the Pharmacy, you will be contacted immediately, so you can come pick out your tree by 11/29, it will then be flagged “Sold” upon payment. You may pick it up anytime before Dec 6th! ❤️💚

We will order a limited amount of extras, and any of the presold trees not spoken for will then be sold as first come first serve beginning Sunday, Nov 30th.

🌲🌲Our First Annual Christmas Tree Order will be placed this Friday, July 25th! We have attached a link to make the preorders simple! Money will be collected at the store, at time of pick up.

We will be traveling to Southwest VA mid November to pick up the trees and EXCITED to be able to bring these beautiful evergreens back to our Goochland Community! 🌲🌲
