📸 Senator Roger Marshall Visits GRMC

On Tuesday, we were honored to host Senator Roger Marshall at GRMC. During his visit, Senator Marshall toured our facilities, met with staff, and learned more about the challenges and opportunities facing rural healthcare in northwest Kansas.

Some highlights from the visit included:
-Conversations with our medical leadership about staffing, telehealth, infrastructure, and funding
-A walk-through of critical departments such as emergency and outpatient services
-Discussion on how federal policy can better support access to high‑quality care in rural communities

We were also pleased to have several of our board members present during the visit: Vicki Baker, Patty Eckhardt, Brian Linin, John Mosbarger, and Terry Nash. They asked engaging questions about the future of hospitals and how federal support can help sustain rural healthcare systems.

We appreciate Senator Marshall taking the time to see firsthand how GRMC serves our region and to hear directly about our needs. Partnerships like these are vital to ensuring that healthcare remains strong and accessible in rural Kansas.

Goodland Regional Medical Center is proud to support our local schools and is now featuring an Athlete of the Week for both Goodland High School and Fort Hays Tech Northwest.

𝙒𝙚𝙚𝙠 𝙤𝙛 September 22nd

Fort Hays Tech Northwest has selected freshman, Barrett Schlosser, for this week's Athlete of the week. He is from Goodland, KS, and he is currently studying Automotive Technology. Barrett is also a member of Shooting Sports, for the college. Barrett Schlosser competed at the Prairie Circuit Classic a couple weekends ago, where he placed 1st in the Super Sporting category, while also placing 11th High Overall. "Barrett is one of our emerging freshmen that has made the varsity team this year," said Coach Crow. "He's a hard worker and is improving his scores weekly."

Goodland High School

Goodland High School has selected senior, Allison Cure, for this week's Athlete of the week. "Allison Cure continues to challenge the courses that she has played. She is very focused and has set high goals for herself. She has won the 4 tournaments we have played in. She won a three-hole playoff at Hays Invitational. She continues to work hard at her game”, said Head Coach Connie Livengood.
