“Perfect Harmony” Presentation to the GRMC Board
Kin Huang’s painting, “Perfect Harmony,” was presented to the Board of GRMC with a warm reception and heartfelt appreciation. Board President Greg Cure and the entire GRMC Board extended such kindness and courtesy—it was truly appreciated.
A sincere thank you to everyone who attended last evening’s presentation of the painting.
Special guests included Jack and Linda Lucas, as well as Dale and Jacque Schields. Jack and Dale both dedicated many years of service working at GRMC. Dale shared meaningful words from Kin during the presentation.
Kin’s husband, Ying, faithfully served at GRMC for 43 years, retiring as Lab Director in 2006. He passed away in 2019. His legacy, along with Kin’s artistic gift, made the evening especially meaningful.
The painting, titled “Perfect Harmony,” was created at the request of CEO Lucretia Stargell, who asked in March 2025 if Kin would consider painting a piece for the hospital lobby. Kin graciously consented.
According to Kin, each element of the artwork carries deep symbolism:
• Education and Knowledge
• Longevity and Resilience
• Purity and Integrity
• Unlimited Resources and Prosperity
Kin shared that she truly believes this rural hospital will continue to prosper under the leadership of CEO Lucretia Stargell and the guidance of the GRMC Board for many days to come.

Goodland Regional Medical Center is proud to support our local schools and is now featuring an Athlete of the Week for both Goodland High School and Fort Hays Tech Northwest.

𝙒𝙚𝙚𝙠 𝙤𝙛 February 16th

Fort Hays Tech Northwest has selected freshman Braxton McAvey as this week’s athlete of the week. He is studying business technology and is a part of the men's wrestling team. Braxton McAvey placed 2nd in the 165-pound weight class at the South Central District Championships last weekend. On his way to the finals, McAvey pinned his first two opponents in the first period before pinning his third opponent in the final period. McAvey would ultimately lose by decision in the finals (6-1). Braxton's performance also qualifies him for the National Championships set to take place on March 6th and 7th.

Goodland High School has selected senior Danica Dautel as this week’s athlete of the week. "Danica is a prime example of a leader on this team. She always comes in and is the hardest worker in the room. Danica shows no quit even when she’s hurt she’s trying to find a way to keep going. I am looking forward to seeing what she can do at the state tournament," said Jesse Gardner.
