Some moments call for us to pause and remember what our role really is in people’s lives.
Every person deserves to feel safe, respected, and accepted for who they are. That includes our patients, our families, and our communities. When care shifts away from evidence and compassion, real harm can follow, especially for those already vulnerable.
As mental health professionals and as humans, our responsibility is not to change who someone is, but to support them in understanding themselves, reducing suffering, and building a life that feels authentic and meaningful.
This is about dignity. This is about safety. This is about doing no harm.
We can hold space, lead with empathy, and stand firmly in what we know to be true.
