The birthday brigade showed up today, with gift bags for all the residents. They brought over 40 bags so each resident will get a special gift on their birthday! We have so many community friends who share blessings with us throughout the year!

Today is Sr. Citizens Day, and we celebrated by doing something that is fun at any age! The Heavenly Snow Company delighted us with shaved ice treats in too many flavors to count! The most popular choice was strawberry cheesecake! The food truck was right at our front door, so everyone could experience the fun!

Keeping our courtyard flourishing has been a real challenge this summer because of the relentless heat! A few of our ladies, though, have managed to keep their porches looking beautiful. We even have a small but robust tomato crop. Thank you, Pat, Ann, and Isabel, for sharing your green thumbs with us!

Bingo was a blast today. Jerrilyn and Marilyn were showing our new volunteer the ropes. Lyric is a senior at Beech High School and will be spending a semester with us, learning about health care and programming in the senior living community. She'll also learn a lot about fun and friendship here at Brookdale!
