Today is National Funeral Director Day, and I want to take a moment to recognize someone who quietly gives his whole heart to this work: Jeff Friedman, the funeral director at Choice Cremation, and my husband.

Most people never see the late-night calls, the early mornings, or the weight that comes with caring for families on some of the hardest days of their lives. Jeff shows up for all of it with steady compassion, patience, and respect.

He believes every person deserves to be treated with dignity. Every family deserves clear answers. And every goodbye deserves care.

What I’m most proud of is that the kindness families experience at Choice Cremation isn’t something he turns on for work. It’s who he is.

If you’ve trusted us with someone you love, there’s a very good chance Jeff was part of that care behind the scenes, making sure every detail was handled thoughtfully and respectfully.

Jeff and I were in the car this week having a very serious conversation about how long the week felt…

Mostly because we couldn’t figure out if it was Tuesday or Wednesday. (It was Wednesday 😉.)

That’s life at Choice Cremation. The days don’t always follow a neat schedule. Weekends look a lot like weekdays. And the calendar sometimes becomes more of a suggestion.

But that’s because loss doesn’t run on a schedule either.

When a family calls, it’s often the hardest day they’ve ever had, whether it’s Sunday morning or late on a Wednesday night.

📞So we answer.
♥️We show up.
🗓️We walk with them through it.

We’re simply grateful to be the steady place families can reach whenever they need us.
