On the surface, this industry is about beauty and confidence, but behind the scenes, it can be ๐๐ง๐ช๐ฉ๐๐กโfilled with gatekeeping, toxic competition, and women tearing each other down instead of lifting each other up.
Iโve seen it firsthandโpeople who smile to your face but sabotage you behind closed doors. Providers who hoard knowledge like thereโs only room for ๐ต๐ฉ๐ฆ๐ฎ at the top. Practitioners spreading lies about each other just to get ahead. And worst of all, women attacking each other under the guise of โhonestyโ when itโs really just insecurity in disguise.
Then thereโs the ๐ช๐ฎ๐ช๐ต๐ข๐ต๐ช๐ฐ๐ฏโthe unspoken epidemic of this industry. You work hard to refine your craft, build your brand, and create something uniqueโฆ only for someone else to copy and pass it off as their own. Inspiration is one thing; straight-up replication is another.
Why do some believe success is ๐ญ๐ช๐ฎ๐ช๐ต๐ฆ๐ฅ? Why act like helping someone else takes something away from you? The truth isโthereโs more than enough to go around.
I built my business, my reputation, and my skills through hard work, integrity, and ๐ฌ๐ช๐ฏ๐ฅ๐ฏ๐ฆ๐ด๐ด. You can stand out without stepping on anyone else. I choose collaboration over competition. I choose to share knowledge, not hoard it. I choose to celebrate other women instead of tearing them down. And when the negativity comes? I remind myself:
