Yesterday, we welcomed collaborator Dr. Jolan Walter & her team from USF Health-University of South Florida, who spent the day with us and some of our families with genetic immune deficiencies. 🧬

We reviewed updates on our collaborative work, treatments, and gene therapies on the horizon. It was a day of science, fellowship, and partnership.

Our Research Director, Karlla, presented this month's Lunch n' Learn session all about newborn screening! 👶

From its early beginnings to today’s life-saving advancements, Karlla shared a brief history of newborn screening, how it works, and why it’s so critical for early detection and intervention. 🧬

This is a public health program that impacts thousands of families every year, including many at our Clinic.

🌶️ Staff Chili Cook-off 2026 🌶️

We had a great turnout for our staff chili cook-off today! It was a fantastic afternoon of good food and healthy competition as we sampled a wide variety of homemade recipes from across the team.

Madyson is finishing up her month-long genetic counseling rotation with us this week! 🧬

Originally from the Lancaster/Lebanon area, she is currently a second-year student at Thomas Jefferson University and will be graduating in just a couple of months. 🎉

In her free time, she enjoys running, walking, hiking, and taking walks with her fiancé and their dog, Sailor. 🐶
