This has been a long time coming, but I'm excited to announce that I will be presenting 2-day bodywork clinics starting in the Fall of 2025. My whole horse approach focuses on skin tension, myofascial release, improving joint range of motion, reducing neural tension and more, all while keeping the horse under threshold. The connection between you and your horse will deepen as you bring relief to common, yet hidden problems your horse may be experiencing.

This multi-system approach has been a product of my 25 years of experience as a human transitioned to horse manual therapist. The 2-day clinic is targeted to horse owners as well as equine healthcare therapists.

My first scheduled clinic is November 15th/16th in Williston, FL at Kickin' Dust Performance Horses, LLC. If you're interested in being a host this fall/winter or spring of 2026, please contact me for details.

Mustang Jimmy...Day 5. Fuss free haltering today. Jimmy has really taken to reward based training. We've been working on hand feeding staying in a neutral position. I "click" and mark the correct behavior, followed by a hay pellet reward.

My criteria starts low of just touching the halter, then up the nose, then up the face and finally full haltering. We'll do this most sessions and develop a head-down self-haltering technique and then phase out the food reward.

Targeting and leading are next!

Mustang Jimmy...Day 4.

I introduced Positive Reinforcement today. We're starting at Square 1 teaching Jimmy "Calm Default". The criteria for this is standing quiet with his head straight forward. I'm using a scan and capture technique to mark the right position with a click when he reaches that position and then deliver a food reward with his head positioned straight. I'm also using protected contact to keep us both safe and to lower the pressure.

With R+, the horse is able to say no and walk away, which Jimmy does. My mini horse was walking around and leaving, which increased Jimmy's stress level. For future sessions for awhile, my other 2 horses will be tied up at the barn to relieve this at the beginning.

Jimmy has never been hand fed before, so all of this is new to him. He engaged multiple times which is pretty impressive. We'll continue this simple, foundational cue until he's solid. Next is target training.

Mustang #5578 (Jimmy)...Day 3.

I use morning feed time, when the whole herd is quietly eating, for grooming and touching. Tag removal yesterday evening and use of a brush today. We'll start target training this afternoon!
