We are honored to highlight David Lewis, a cherished resident in our Memory Care community! ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’œ Born in Cuero, Texas, David grew up moving often with his familyโ€”relocating 15 times due to his fatherโ€™s work as a driller on an exploration rig for Phillips 66. He graduated from Ponca City High School in Oklahoma. At 19, he proudly served his country in the US Army as a radio operator during the Vietnam War and later competed as a Master Marksmanship competitor in the Fourth Army.

After his military service, David worked for Conoco Phillips for 32 years as a foreman in Ponca City. The many moves throughout his early life took a toll on the Lewis family, but his time in Goshen has been one of the greatest blessings of his life. David then met his wife, Ritaโ€”thanks to his brother Cleveโ€”and what a blessing Rita, her family, and their church community have been to him. Together, they share a beautiful blended family of six children, 16 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren. They also enjoyed traveling the worldโ€”from Israel and China to Europe, Alaska, the Panama Canal, and the Hawaiian Islands.

David has always had a kind, helpful heart, ready to lend a hand to our Care Team and fellow residents whenever he sees a need. He loves making pecan pies to shareโ€”a true gift of serviceโ€”and his faith and walks with the Lord are central to his life. We are so grateful for Davidโ€™s presence, generosity, and the positivity he brings to our community every day! ๐ŸŒŸ
